Baby will have Scottish and English heritage from mum and dad but will be born and live in Wales. One syllable last name which is a noun.

Lucy Cordelia
Ivy Leonie
Nancy Madeleine
Elspeth Catriona
Rebecca Eilidh
Coralie Enfys
Tara Naomi

Some combination of:
Timothy
Nathaniel
Daniel
Dominic
Lewis
Toby
Joshua

Ideally Hugh as the middle name but can’t seem to make it flow! Potentially open to Hugh as the first name.

I like Ivy, Lucy and Tara from girls list and Dominic, Toby and Joshua from boys. I think Hugh does well with all 3 (Huw is nice Welsh spelling?)

Have you considered how name will be pronounced locally? I live in Yorkshire/Humber area and decided against some names due to local pronunciation (try saying Violet in a super strong south Yorkshire accent).

Thanks, did think about the Welsh spelling but it’s a family name going back 3 generations. I was worried there were too many Hs but you’ve reassured me! Thanks!

I like Lucy and Coralie

Joshua and Daniel

SleepingStandingUp · 30/12/2018 19:04

Lucy Cordelia - I'd totally switch it. Cordelia is lovely, Lucy is meh
Ivy Leonie - Cute
Nancy Madeleine - meh
Elspeth Catriona - love Elspeth
Rebecca Eilidh - meh to Rebecca
Coralie Enfys - no idea how to pronounce middle name which is fine, we usually say not read middle names. Really pretty name
Tara Naomi - bleurgh to Tara

Some combination of:
Timothy - Tim Tim, nice but Dim. No.
Nathaniel - lovely lovely
Daniel - meh
Dominic - hmm, not sure
Lewis - meh
Toby - love Toby
Joshua - it's OK, it's nice, it's fine.
Nathanel Lewis?
Toby Dominic?
Nathaniel Hugh

ZebraKid71 · 30/12/2018 19:07

Elspeth Catriona gets my vote... I absolutely love Elspeth.

Peachbubble · 30/12/2018 19:22

Lucy, Ivy or Coralie for a girl. I like Toby, but can see Toby Hugh isn't the best sounding combo. How about Toby Daniel Hugh?

Nocturnalpearl · 30/12/2018 19:53

Nancy is on our list so that would be my choice. Think it’s really pretty. Boys I’d go Dominic or Toby - both names I love and can’t have but think they’re strong boys names!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 30/12/2018 19:54

I like Lucy and Nancy, Daniel and Toby.

DianaBlythe · 30/12/2018 21:48

Thank you so much, really nice to have some feedback and don’t want to get any in real life!

Ivy Leonie and Hugh Nathaniel

DianaBlythe · 30/12/2018 22:01

Enfys is Welsh so say what you see! It means rainbow.

Lucy Cordelia are two names I love and a nice combination. Timothy I think sounds like someone very small and weak. Particular dislike. Love Daniel, Joshua is ok.

Phebes · 30/12/2018 22:51

Love Elspeth and Nathaniel! I think Nathaniel Hugh sounds nice.

Shockers · 30/12/2018 22:58

Elspeth is a lovely name.

Mouse14 · 30/12/2018 23:05

I like Nancy, Lucy and Coralie. Not overly struck on any of the boys names. I found naming my son and baby due really hard as I'm a teacher and names place certain images of certain little people I've taught in my head. Hate to say it but your boys list reminds me of several 'characters'!!

greendale17 · 30/12/2018 23:06

Lucy or Elspeth

Dominic or Joshua.

Really don’t like Timothy at all.

Coldtoes28 · 31/12/2018 01:14

Lucy Cordelia - Lucy is dull
Ivy Leonie - love both names but maybe too rhymey together?
Nancy Madeleine - lovely!
Elspeth Catriona - love Elspeth, not Catrione
Rebecca Eilidh - don't like these names
Coralie Enfys - Love Coralie, not sure how to say the second
Tara Naomi - seems very 90s

swimmerforlife · 31/12/2018 03:00

I LOVE Nathaniel, not that common but proper name too. Not really fussed on the rest of your boys names, all seem a bit meh - very popular names that have been done to death for the past 20 years, Toby is okay though (prefer Tobias however).

Always loved Lucy and Ivy is nice. The rest I do not like, Tara and Rebecca seem dated. I'm no fan, Coralie of Nancy or Elspeth (probably just not to my taste though).

WildCherryBlossom · 31/12/2018 03:10

What an awesome list! Nancy Madeleine or Tara Naomi would probably be my girls choices with Dominic or Toby for a boy. Dominic Hugh.... I like Hugh after a longer first name but you could do Toby Lewis Hugh

MikeUniformMike · 31/12/2018 10:52

Lucy Cordelia - lovely
Ivy Leonie - yuk
Nancy Madeleine - ok
Elspeth Catriona - nice but will be Elsie
Rebecca Eilidh - Rebecca seems dated
Coralie Enfys - NO. Enfys is awful, (it's pr. ENviss), and Coralie is a bit. corally. Enfys means Rainbow btw. Corally Rainbow.
Tara Naomi - ok but not keen

MikeUniformMike · 31/12/2018 10:55

Timothy - classic
Nathaniel - no. too long and will be Nath or Nat.
Daniel - classic
Dominic - Dom. No
Lewis - ok, but popular
Toby - classic
Joshua - Josh. Might be a bit dated.

MikeUniformMike · 31/12/2018 10:59

I wouldn't spell Hugh as Huw. It's a trendy name, although a classic with Welsh-speakers. It's generally not pronounced the same as Hugh.

Sarahandduck18 · 31/12/2018 11:22

Lucy Ivy and Tara are the best girls ones.

Dominic Toby and Joshua are the best of the boys.

Sophronia · 31/12/2018 12:37

Elspeth and Dominic

TatianaLarina · 31/12/2018 13:37

Nancy Catriona. Don’t like the others.

Joshua, Nathaniel and Dominic - are all fine but there a Joshs and Doms everywhere.
