I know two. One pronounces it aida and the other ‘adda’ (thinks her name has been shortened from Adaline). I like both.

Nearly used it. Didn't because it sounds like 'aid her', meaning help her, in accents that drop the h. Also, she didn't look like an Ada.

It was on my shortlist had DS been a girl. DH is a computer programmer so it was a nod to that as well as the fact she was an Awesome Woman.

I like it a lot, although it could blend in with all of the millions of Avas. I also like Aïda.
