Thoughts?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I’ve only known it for girls

TheDownsideUp · 14/12/2018 19:00

No. It sounds feminine to me.

blondeemily · 14/12/2018 19:06

No, way too feminine.

WitsEnding · 14/12/2018 19:07

Same, only know it a girls' name.

mingostarr7 · 14/12/2018 19:09

know a 3 year old boy called Eden. He constantly gets referred to as she and people think he is a little girl.

RuthW · 14/12/2018 19:09

Not for a boy.

sayitisntsojo · 14/12/2018 19:09

There was a male Eden on Love Island Australia this year.

NameChangeToAvoidBeingFound · 14/12/2018 19:09

I'd use it for a boy. It's no different to Ellis, Elliot, Elijah, Elias ect.

Bigonesmallone3 · 14/12/2018 19:10

Eden from celebs go dating..
I hadn't heard of it til then..
I actually quite liked it

Loopytiles · 14/12/2018 19:10

I had a male colleague with this name, Australian.

AuntieStella · 14/12/2018 19:11

Yes.

Eden was always a bits name until a US daytime soap had a female one (and a male Cruz to boot)

I think it's a lovely name for a boy.

I don't like masculine names on girls.

giftsonthebrain · 14/12/2018 19:11

Aiden? Eden seems like the female version.

ernjas · 14/12/2018 19:11

Yeah, Eden actually ranks at #274 for boys and #113 for girls. Less used for boys but still used. I know one in their 50s and one in their 30s.

Isn’t eh-den a Jewish girls name? Maybe ee-den is a boy version?

Heyjudas · 14/12/2018 19:24

I would associate it with a girl.

HappyGoLuckyGo · 14/12/2018 19:25

I know one, late 20s, male. I don’t like the name much, personally...

Peachbubble · 14/12/2018 19:58

I know two boys called Eden, one aged 5, the other is 12, but I think it's more of a girls name tbh.

foxtiger · 14/12/2018 20:03

Well, I can immediately think of a well-known male footballer called Eden, but the only other one I've heard of was a girl (and would now be about 23, I think). I think it's uncommon enough that you could get away with using it for either really.

biggidybon · 14/12/2018 21:59

I would think he meant Ethan and couldn't pronounce his own name as Eden to me is def a girl name.

Smile19 · 14/12/2018 22:12

I had it on my boys list. I know both boys and girls with the name. If you like it, use it. Congratulations.

yikesanotherbooboo · 14/12/2018 22:49

Eden is a male character in the Jalna books by Mazo de la Roche. I saw it there first so don't see Eden as a feminine name.

Sophronia · 14/12/2018 23:21

I prefer it for a boy.

bruffin · 14/12/2018 23:24

I heard eden as a boys name. its really awful as a girls name .

deptfordgirl · 15/12/2018 06:26

I love it for boys. Think it's a bit twee for girls but seems to work for boys.

tammytoby · 15/12/2018 08:47

I know a boy called Eden. It sounds quite strong and masculine imo
