I love it!

caffelatte100 · 15/12/2018 10:40

There are lots of really great names you could choose for a boy. This isn't one of them. Don't do it to them.

I used to know a boy called Eden. He'll be in his 20s now. I like it but it does seem to be used for girls now with nn Edie.

Nonameyet1 · 15/12/2018 18:57

I have a girl Eden and love the name. Think can work well for both. How about Edison? Edwin?

Flamingosnbears · 15/12/2018 19:10

No not at all "just a girl name" I happen to think it's a fine name for a boy. You might also like Roman...

daisypond · 15/12/2018 19:13

I think it's OK, though not my style. There was the male dating expert on Celebrity Dating Agency as well. Eden Blackman.

CrazyOldBagLady · 15/12/2018 19:18

I rather like it as a boy's name.

starzig · 15/12/2018 19:27

Bit like Leslie. Can be a boys name but in UK is more used for girls. Great if you want to keep you child gender neutral though.

bruffin · 15/12/2018 19:31

Starzig
Leslie is the male version but Lesley is feminine

YolandiFuckinVisser · 15/12/2018 19:35

I know a boy called Eden, it suits him. I would have thought it a girl's name before I met him but not any more. He's aged about 10.

starzig · 15/12/2018 19:43

Meh. Same idea though.

starzig · 15/12/2018 19:44

I have a female friend Leslie come to think of it.

NeedToChangeMyLightBulb · 15/12/2018 19:46

I knew a boy called this and he was always picked on for his ‘girly name’

isitspringyet · 15/12/2018 19:52

Nope not for a boy. Sounds way too feminine

TootsyBella84 · 15/12/2018 20:13

I love it for a boy's name.

Raspberry88 · 15/12/2018 20:17

It is definitely a boys name!

FairyFantastic · 15/12/2018 23:14

Only ever known girls. Never considered it a boys name at all. This has come as quite a shocker but hey ho!

zebrarobot · 15/12/2018 23:17

Ive only heard it used as a boys name for a boy in ds class at school. Pronounced Eh-den rather than Ee-den

flowertoday · 15/12/2018 23:23

I have a son called Eden, it suits him and he is 16 now. He has never had a hard time for having a more unusual name. I have met a couple of other boys called Eden.

CheeseTheDay · 16/12/2018 11:07

I love Eden for a boy. It is one of the few genuine 'gender neutral' names.

And I hate seeing names described as being 'to feminine' for boys, as if feminine is something to be ashamed of. Bullshit.

Isabella would be 'too frilly' for a boy, Eden isn't.

RancidOldHag · 17/12/2018 07:50

Eden isn't a unisex name! It's a traditional boy's name that has occasionally been given to girls in recent years.

blueskiesandforests · 17/12/2018 07:55

Eden has definitely been used for girls in the UK for a fair while - I knew a woman with that name born in the early 1960s, and have never met a man with that name.

I wouldn't use it personally because it's tied up in my mind with the entire garden of Eden story which I find misogynistic in the extreme - women responsible for original sin and being men's downfall etc.

Snapsnapsnap · 17/12/2018 08:06

I really like it
