I recently descovered the name everly but found out it’s getting trendy
I do like most of the names ending in ‘verly’.
What’s your favourite?
Do you think these names will get very mainstream?

MrsFoxPlus4 · 11/12/2018 04:11

I have an Everley she’s 1 :)

WereYouHareWhenIWasFox · 11/12/2018 04:17

Will Everley ever be trendy? It is very old fashioned (not in a cool way)

MrsFoxPlus4 · 11/12/2018 04:25

I wasn’t really bothered about it becoming popular and have never heard that’s it’s old fashioned and not cool 😂

HappyStripper · 11/12/2018 05:00

Wizards of Waverly Place would rule out Waverley for me, plus it sounds like a made up name from the word wave. Everley is honestly the best one as it sounds the most real I guess and is a lovely name. Beverley sounds a little wannabe-famous due to the Beverley Hills reference, kinda like naming a kid Hollywood. I’d stick to the original personally.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 11/12/2018 05:01

Personally I can’t see them becoming popular. I think you’re safe.

Jaxtellerswife · 11/12/2018 05:51

I think you should use all four Grin
But if not then Everly is lovely, I considered it but my partner didn't want it

Pemba · 11/12/2018 05:51

None of them. Everley - makes me think of the Everley Brothers, 1950s American pop group. I have seen it mentioned quite a few times on baby name threads though.

Waverley - sound like a street name, not a child's name.

Beverley - very dated and always was quite chavvy even when popular. I think of the dreadful character Beverley in the famous 70s TV drama 'Abigail's Party'.

Averly - never heard of it but not keen.

BikeRunSki · 11/12/2018 05:55

Everly- OK
Beverley - v dated
Waverley - Edinburgh train station!
Avaley - never come across this

tryinganewname · 11/12/2018 05:59

Everley is definitely becoming popular.. just like Evelyn is. Surprised people on this thread aren't hearing this name crop up for newborns. I know of at least 3 in the last year or so.

Shadow1234 · 11/12/2018 06:05

Everly from your list is my favourite

motortroll · 11/12/2018 06:08

Everly is best from this list.

Not sure about averly but I always loved Avery. Unfortunately it sounds really similar to the name of my work place so would have been weird to use it!

CloserIAm2Fine · 11/12/2018 07:26

I’m just glad you’re not using all four together! Grin

Everley although I think I prefer it spelled Everly

Pinklily1 · 11/12/2018 11:08

Channing Tatum and his ex wife named their daughter Everly, but that was a few years ago I think. I hadn’t heard of it before that but I really like it. Not so keen on the others.

Marcipex · 11/12/2018 11:31

I can't see Beverley or Waverley becoming popular.

Everly is okay though v similar to Evie etc.

I know a lovely Coralie, which has a similar sound.

stellarfox · 11/12/2018 13:02

I think Everly is quite trendy, Beverly quite old fashioned and not heard of either of the other ones! Everly is the best of the bunch

ZebraKid71 · 11/12/2018 13:09

Waverley - no
Everley - I like it, I don't know any in the uk. It quite popular in the states
Averly - never heard this but I read it as Avery, which to me is a male name.

wildewillow · 11/12/2018 16:55

Everly / Everleigh is really lovely and on the good side of popular at the moment.
Beverly is very 80's.
Waverley is ridiculous.
Averly sounds like it should be spelt Ava-lee and is more than a bit naff.

Stick with Everly!

TheDogsMother · 11/12/2018 16:58

Waverley is the name of a district council in Surrey Smile

RuthW · 11/12/2018 17:32

Everly is becoming popular at the moment.

TatianaLarina · 11/12/2018 18:20

Everly = celeb copycat.
Beverly - haha
Waverley = Scott.

Avery is around, not come across Averly.

KismetHardie · 11/12/2018 18:24

Oh I thought this was going to be a word game.

Quite like Everly, and other boys Ev names-Everard, Everest...ok those are all I can think of. Evan? variant of Ivan.

Not keen on the others.

Cookit · 11/12/2018 19:11

Waverley like the train station?

Ask Beverley is a very dated name, I don’t see it becoming popular again for a long time.

Beverley has a very different feel to Everly.

AuntieStella · 11/12/2018 19:20

Everley is very surname-y (because of the brothers, which also makes it seem rather masculine)

Beverley is in her 50s or 60s and I don't think it's time has come for revival yet

Waverley is the main railway station in Edinburgh, so it would be like naming your DC Euston or Fenchurch

Never come across Averly (and I wouid have assumed, wringiynit seens, it was a typo for the boys name Avery)

motortroll · 11/12/2018 20:39

Avery is a girls or boys name.

NiceViper · 12/12/2018 07:33

I wouid dispute that it's a girls name (not least as it is a male death eater). Just like James and Max really aren't girls names. No matter what is happeneing in US, some things just don't travel

Waverley is just a train station to me - OP is it possible that the one you know is actually sporting a conception name? Like Northey in the Mitford book (Great North hotel, Kings Cross)
