Love it anyway.

Benjaminbuttonschild · 04/12/2018 22:19

A good choice. If you like it go with it

Picknickers · 04/12/2018 23:08

Lovely.

Sophronia · 04/12/2018 23:10

Lovely

iamme21 · 04/12/2018 23:10

I have a Patrick- it’s a yes from me!

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 04/12/2018 23:13

Love it. Will be using it if we have a DS2.

Wouldn’t worry about having no Irish roots- I wouldn’t immediately think there’s an Irish connection like I would if you’d picked Padraig.

Justkeeprollingalong · 04/12/2018 23:42

Great name

DramaAlpaca · 05/12/2018 00:19

Fab name. No Irish connections required Wink

Personally I don't like any of the diminutives so didn't use it as a first name. One of my boys has it as a middle name instead where it couldn't get abbreviated.

Flamingosnbears · 05/12/2018 10:28

St. Patrick has links to Britain anyway

Hashbrownsandbeans · 05/12/2018 13:24

Ok cool thanks Smile that’s reassuring

I love the name Patrick but not so keen on the diminutives.

ZebraKid71 · 05/12/2018 19:01

I like the name, not any of the shortenings though. I know two who got called Trish (as in short for Patricia) at school and it stuck!

sheldonstwin · 05/12/2018 19:04

Great name:)

giftsonthebrain · 05/12/2018 19:06

Classic (I used it for ds1)

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 05/12/2018 19:57

Love it

MikeUniformMike · 05/12/2018 20:42

Like it a lot. You don't need an Irish connection but you will get asked.

daisypond · 05/12/2018 20:44

I like it too. You don't need Irish roots.

Joanne721 · 05/12/2018 20:45

another vote for Patrick

CaitlinsYellowSocks · 05/12/2018 20:50

I love it. It's beautiful, strong, classic, not overused.

It's DS1's middle name - it doesn't really go with our surname, otherwise we would have definitely considered it as a first name.

Ngaio2 · 05/12/2018 20:53

I believe it’s quite popular in France

lebkuchenlover · 05/12/2018 23:23

I like Patrick.

Names don't need to be shortened especially an easy to say 2 syllable one!

Conventicle · 05/12/2018 23:51

My MIL, married to a Patrick for 50 years, cannot seem to pronounce it properly. Do you like ‘Pat’?

Astronica · 06/12/2018 11:57

Good name and no you don't need Irish roots.

gummibears · 06/12/2018 14:18

I like Patrick.

6freerangeeggs · 06/12/2018 17:54

I like it, I do have Irish roots but I think it's ok to use it even if you don't.
