We like the name Patrick but have no Irish roots or links. Is it a no no?

A lovely (sensible!) name for once. Sorry...just been seeing Blossom and Lyric suggestions.

St. Patrick wasn't Irish either so no need for Irish roots.

I think it's lovely. No need for Irish roots.

I have a Patrick. It’s shortened in loads of different ways by different people and he answers to all of them- except one, which his grandfather, who he was named after, found upsetting. He’s always Patrick at home, though. Lovely name!

Wow, overwhelmingly positive response! Thank you everyone! I think I like it even more now!

I believe it’s quite popular in France

In the over-sixties, yes.
