I overheard someone using this name yesterday and it really stuck. I googled it and saw its meaning which is just lovely (buddhist meaning the enlightened one). Only worry is that I can only really imagine a little cool dude with this name!

Point Break

sheet82 · 15/11/2018 19:00

Is it pronounced Bow-Dee or Bod-dee

Hohocabbage · 15/11/2018 19:00

It’s a bit arrogant? Like calling your child perfection, or heaven.

sammylilac · 15/11/2018 19:01

Bow-dee! I had never heard it before.

No.

funmummy48 · 15/11/2018 19:02

It's the name of my cousin's dog so I'm not keen! 😯

moredoll · 15/11/2018 19:04

Bow as in Now or Bow as in Toe?

bionicnemonic · 15/11/2018 19:04

....and Doyle...

papersmile · 15/11/2018 19:05

Bionic - that's the first thing that came to my mind too!

ParisNext · 15/11/2018 19:06

Surfers/Aussie Soaps not very bright good looking gap year boy or a puppy! I only say this as you asked for thoughts!

CryptoFascist · 15/11/2018 19:06

I like it a lot.

mossyroundhill · 15/11/2018 19:07

UpToonGirl · 15/11/2018 19:08

I really like it! It was on my shortlist for each of my DC but DH vetoed it.

TroysMammy · 15/11/2018 19:08

It's the name of a Border Terrier.

Choccywoccyhooha · 15/11/2018 19:09

I love it. We had it on our shortlist.

Fairypiggy · 15/11/2018 19:12

Fairypiggy · 15/11/2018 19:12

^point break

daisypond · 15/11/2018 19:23

Isn't it a bit odd if you're not Buddhist, as it has religious significance? A bit like calling your son Mohammed if you're not Muslim?

sammylilac · 15/11/2018 19:27

Thank you all for the feedback, I do really like it personally which I guess is a good thing haha.

I haven't seen Point Break maybe I'll give it a go.

I didn't think of that daisypond! Although I guess thats like saying someone who isn't christian shouldn't call their boys Luke, James, Matthew, Sam, Jonah, Mark etc & I'm pretty sure there are a few!

Name of a tree too.

Hohocabbage · 15/11/2018 19:29

No it's more like calling your child Jesus.

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 15/11/2018 19:50

I love it. I've known two young Bodhis and they were both lovely boys.

sheet82 · 15/11/2018 19:54

Boe-dee I think. Or Bodie?

TheFreaksShallInheritTheEarth · 15/11/2018 19:54

No it's more like calling your child Jesus

No it's not. Calling your child Buddha would be.
Bodhi isn't even a person in Buddhism.
