Which is better? Henry’s nickname would be Hen? And Arthur’s perhaps Art/Artie?

Really like Arthur - not keen on Henry tbh

DramaAlpaca · 14/11/2018 23:23

I like both so I'm not much help.

meow1989 · 14/11/2018 23:25

Arthur nn Art (Artie reminds me of the creepy kid in Daria, but that's a fairly dated reference!)

Not a fan of Henry

SallyWD · 14/11/2018 23:32

I love both but prefer Arthur

Picknickers · 15/11/2018 00:29

Henry. I'm sorry but I don't get the love for Arthur.

everydaymum · 15/11/2018 00:41

The nickname for Henry is usually Harry - if that helps to make a decision?

moredoll · 15/11/2018 03:56

Hen is Glaswegian for any female, girl/teenager/single woman/wife/granny.
Harry is much better.
I prefer Arthur to Henry though.

Wombat222 · 15/11/2018 04:28

Thanks. We wouldn’t go to Harry I don’t think, though would love an alternative to ‘Hen’

Hal?

Wombat222 · 15/11/2018 04:31

Bleurg no! I think he’d be Henry but just affectionately called Hen/Hens/Henners etc by me

OP posts:
moredoll · 15/11/2018 04:32

Bleurg no!

Grin must admit it's not my favourite.

HayCaramba · 15/11/2018 04:41

Arthur.

Horrid Henry has ruined Henry for me.

bassackwards · 15/11/2018 04:45

nn Hank?

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 15/11/2018 04:54

Not hugely keen on either but Henry is better.

QueenGoblin · 15/11/2018 05:42

Personally I prefer Henry.

Both are popular names, I think Arthur less so based purely on the fact I don't think I know any Arthur's personally but know several Henry's.

SaraCara · 15/11/2018 05:44

Arthur.

Phillipa12 · 15/11/2018 06:11

I have 4dc, the only one whose name has not been shortened to a nickname is Henry. There really isnt a nice nickname for it, but i do prefer it to Arthur. (We did call the dog that though 😁)

Wombat222 · 15/11/2018 07:09

Think Hank is an American thing really

flamingox · 15/11/2018 07:25

Arthur!

DonutCone · 16/11/2018 10:25

Arthur. Far too many Henry’s.

Thatwasfast · 16/11/2018 18:25

Henry, it’s lovely.

OneTwistedAngel · 16/11/2018 18:34

Oh I love them both! Probably prefer Henry at a push but Artie is a much nicer nickname than Hen... Sorry I'm probably no help!

cptartapp · 16/11/2018 19:58

Not keen on either but Henry, in its entirety. No contrived nn.

Thatwasfast · 16/11/2018 20:31

Hal is pretty cool, think benedict cumberbatch calls his kid that

Astronica · 17/11/2018 11:50

I prefer Henry, but Arthur is okay.
