Hi!

I was just wondering what your opinions (all are welcome) are on the names Ava and Susie or Ava Susie (as a first and middle name)
Thank you very much :) Grin

I like Ava. It's popular for a reason. It has a classy, elegant vintage feel.

Susie is sweet as a nickname for Susannah, but personally I wouldn't use it without a longer, more grown up name on the birth certificate.

SuperstarDJ · 14/11/2018 20:39

Exactly what Drama wrote.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 14/11/2018 20:41

Susie.

Gorgeous for a baby, perfectly fine for a teen, impressive as an adult,

CherryValance · 14/11/2018 20:44

I prefer Susie, just cos there are far fewer little ones with this name and loads of Ava/Eva/Evie/Ellas around. But Ava is perfectly nice too.

Disfordarkchocolate · 14/11/2018 20:45

I like them both but Susie is my favourite of the two.

RavenWings · 14/11/2018 20:46

Susie is far more interesting, Ava is over used and dull. Ava also blends into the hordes of Evie/Eva etc names. But I think Susie needs to be a nn, and not the full name.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 14/11/2018 20:47

Ava! Susie is cute for a baby but I would hate to be say a 20year old girl called Susie, I don’t think it works past the age of 10 until 50

Sophronia · 14/11/2018 21:36

Susie short for Susanna(h)

Caffeineismydrug35 · 14/11/2018 21:38

Susie is ok but I love Ava.

CoatTails · 14/11/2018 21:46

I know a 20 year old Susie. She’s lovely and the name is, too.

tablebrush · 14/11/2018 21:49

I prefer Susie, not common these days and a lovely name 😊 In fact, I'm going to add it to my list, thanks op x

Shadow1234 · 14/11/2018 21:54

I prefer Ava. Not too keen on Susie

Jungster · 14/11/2018 21:55

Susie

MoorMummy · 14/11/2018 21:57

I love Susie! My best friend is Susan. I love susannah for a full name. Ava Is v pretty but oh so overused now, along with Eva. Both lovely names though.

BadgersBiggestFan · 14/11/2018 21:59

Ava is just so blahhhh these days. Suzie is cute!!!

Glaciferous · 14/11/2018 22:00

Susannah is lovely. Ava is very popular. Susie is sweet but I would definitely use a longer version for the real name.

lilballofanxiety · 14/11/2018 22:36

Thank you :) can anybody suggest any longer versions of susie? Apart from Susan and Susannah. I love the name as my grandma is called Susan (sue for short) and I wanted a name similar to hers. I do think it's a lovely name. Thank you for all of your suggestions so far, I love it :)

Ava never did much for me and seems to be everywhere now.

I love Susanna(h) nn Susie. Other than Susan, Suzanne is the only other English variant I can think of. I like the Scandinavian diminutive Sanna but that would make the link to Susan rather obscure.

Susie is a nice nickname for Susannah or its variants, although I like the Suzy spelling best.

Sessy19 · 15/11/2018 07:52

Suzette would shorten to Suzie. You could also use Suranne and Tuesday as longer names for Susie I think, but I’m sure MN would have something to say about Days names! 😂

6onTheHappyFarm · 15/11/2018 07:55

I would go Susanna (think it looks better without the "h"). She can be Susie, Sue or Anna if she feels Susie is too cutesy as an adult.

MsTSwift · 15/11/2018 07:57

Susie though I would use Susannah Ava is a terrible name makes me think of a drunk old lady and it’s oddly extremely popular so common as well

lebkuchenlover · 15/11/2018 08:35

Ava is so overused and dull!

Susie is a lovely nickname for Susanne or Susanna

RedDwarves · 15/11/2018 09:29

Ava.

Ava is lovely and popular for a reason. It still has old Hollywood feels with the Ava Gardner association.

I am in my 20s and would hate to be called Susie, sorry. It's just so outdated.

MrsSiba · 15/11/2018 09:39

Susie is cute and different. Too many Avas around at the moment.

As a short version of Susan is nice. I knew a Susannah who shortened to Zanna too but Susie is nicer.
