So we spent the weekend debating girls names....with less than 3 weeks to go we are cutting it tight with time!! (baby is also engaged and could come at any time!) We are finding it so hard to narrow down the below list?

Lily

Emma

Isla

Ellie

Lila

I love Isla and Lila.

How exciting for you!

IStandWithPosie · 12/11/2018 15:48

Out of all those I suspect Emma will be the least likely to have more 5 of them in her class so I would go for that.

Also, you know you could go two weeks over and still have 6 weeks after that before you have to register the baby? So you have a potential 11 weeks before you have to decide. Worst case scenario if she’s born today you still have 6 weeks to decide.

In order.

1 Ellie
2 Emma
3 Isla
4 Lila
5Lily

Not heard of a baby Emma or Ellie for a long time. The others Lily especially are thousand a penny

liquidrevolution · 12/11/2018 16:02

Emma but I am biased as 4.5yo DD is an Emma.

Shes the only one in her school (apart from the headteacher). There are two Lily's and three Isla's in her year (55 kids).

Sophronia · 12/11/2018 16:05

Emma or Lila

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 12/11/2018 16:06

Emma or Ellie.

Smile19 · 12/11/2018 16:29

We have an Elizabeth, her brother calls her Lily, we call her Elspeth/ Ells or Libby (along with Elizabeth!) Just mentioning as two of your names could be shortened versions. Out of your lovely list I'd choose Emma :)

MadameJosephine · 12/11/2018 16:30

Emma, lovely classic name and not too many of them about

TillyTheTiger · 12/11/2018 16:31

Emma

Thatwasfast · 12/11/2018 16:48

Lily - Love it. Beautiful and classic
Emma - Also Beautiful and classic
Isla - trendy, sounds lovely
Ellie - I like it, but I'd go for Eleanor on the BC
Lila - Makes me thinkof futurama.

TBH, theyare all nice. Maybe try and cut one out every day? Start with Lila Wink

Witchofwisteria · 12/11/2018 16:51

Lila.

Isla and Lily are unbelievably popular at DS school and Emma and Ellie don't seem as nice.

Calzone · 12/11/2018 16:53

Emma

Definitely

worriedgem · 12/11/2018 16:53

I like Emma and Lila.

E20mom · 12/11/2018 17:00

Emma for sure

Nacmonalds · 12/11/2018 17:04

Isla and Lily - lovely but so popular at the moment; a little unoriginal

Lila - I love this, but the only one I’ve ever met, who I went to school with, was constantly having to correct people’s pronunciation. She pronounced it Leela but teachers always called her Lie-la

Emma - lovely. I also like Emily and Emmeline.

Ellie - fine as a nickname, a little boring and childish by itself. What about Eleanor, Elizabeth, Elodie, Eloise, Elowen?

OlennasWimple · 12/11/2018 17:05

Emma or Emily

WitchBottle · 12/11/2018 17:21

You're not cutting it tight at all! We only finally decided on DS's name as we were on our way to register his birth, and he was at least six weeks old. You've got plenty of time.

hallodarknessmyoldfriend · 12/11/2018 17:34

Emma is lovely.

My second pick would be Ellie

Eenymeeny123 · 12/11/2018 17:56

Emma is my favourite, I also like Ellie but do think it's a bit childish for an adult. What about Ella?

stellarfox · 12/11/2018 17:57

I’d go with Isla, but it depends if popularity matters to you!

Icklepup · 12/11/2018 18:24

Emma!

Joanne721 · 12/11/2018 19:22

Lily
Isla

spiderlight · 12/11/2018 19:31

Emma or Isla. Both beautiful.

Didyeeaye · 12/11/2018 19:39

Emma and Isla are my favourites. Emma will be more uncommon of the two, Isla is soo popular now
