Thanks x

Elliot, but prefer it spelled Elliott.

Ihavepies · 01/11/2018 04:24

Oof, dislike the Elliott spelling! I definitely prefer 'original' spellings (although I am aware Elliott is an acceptable alternative) but I just prefer Elliot :)

Prefer Elliott (whichever way you spell it) to Joseph.

SleepWarrior · 01/11/2018 04:37

Joseph

flumpybear · 01/11/2018 04:51

Elliot

Kariloo82 · 01/11/2018 04:56

I have an Eliott 😊 I personally don't like Joseph.

Sungura · 01/11/2018 07:27

Elliot.

LeeMiller · 01/11/2018 07:31

Joseph. But Elliot is nice too.

Polkasq · 01/11/2018 07:40

Joseph

Sophronia · 01/11/2018 07:45

Definitely Joseph

Verity23 · 01/11/2018 08:01

I like Elliot.

17caterpillars1mouse · 01/11/2018 08:09

Joseph

hello1233 · 01/11/2018 08:25

Joseph is a lovely name. Elliot is a bit wet

steppemum · 01/11/2018 08:28

Actually really like both.

which is hard to say, as I knew a horrible Elliot, but thinking about it, I still like the name, it hasn't put me off

Joseph would be my choice, but then I have a soft spot for Biblical names

NarcolepticOuchMouse · 01/11/2018 08:28

Elliot, never met a Joseph that wasn't creepy.

loobylou10 · 01/11/2018 08:31

Elliot (and that's the correct spelling!)

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 01/11/2018 10:40

Joseph. Elliotts are ten a penny and it will date badly.

Desecratedcoconut · 01/11/2018 10:53

Elliot, it's a lovely name. I think Joseph is wet. Also, if you are worried about the name being ten-a-penny, far more children were named Joseph coming in at 28th most used name than Elliot, 69th most popular.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 01/11/2018 11:23

Elliott has already had a long run of popularity after appearing from nowhere though. Bit like Darren or Tracey.

artemisdubois · 01/11/2018 11:32

I love Joseph. Not a fan of Elliot at all.

Disfordarkchocolate · 01/11/2018 11:34

Joseph is one of my favourite boy names. Lovely strong name that does date.

Disfordarkchocolate · 01/11/2018 11:35

You can tell I want my lunch *doesn't date.

KeysHairbandNotepad · 01/11/2018 11:35

Not much help , but they're both lovely. Could you use one as a middle name?

ladybee28 · 01/11/2018 11:40

I much prefer Joseph, too. I like that it's masculine but still has the softness of the 'ph' ending.

Elliott feels like an anagram of 'toilet' to me, both when written and spoken.

meohme · 01/11/2018 13:23

Love both but Elliot is my favourite!
