Traditional but not super popular....

Hi ladies,
I'm booked for a caesarean in 5 weeks and we are struggling for a boy's name. We have a girl name sorted.
We like traditional names but a lot of the golden oldies are so popular these days that if we had a boy it would be in a class with 5 other Arthur/Albert/William etc.
I wanted Rex but my husband doesn't like it. He likes Matthew but I think of a boy I miscarried at 20 weeks as Matthew in my head as we had that down for him.
All suggestions welcome. Middle name for a boy would be Joseph.
Thanks! X

Under the circumstances you’ve described, definitely don’t go for Joseph but it would be perfectly ok to use it as a middle name.

Another vote for Robert.

My db is Robert Joseph and it's a classic name.
His own ds is Bobby.

Ezra Joseph

Hugh? It is the less pretentious version of Hugo and goes well with Joseph.
