Thoughts on the name Lloyd? Is your first association the bank?

No, I know a couple of adults called Lloyd and I’ve never thought “like the bank”

I might find it amusing if they worked for Lloyds though!

3out · 26/10/2018 20:29

The bank never entered my head :)
It makes me think of Australia for some reason?!

Goostacean · 26/10/2018 20:29

It’s quite retro! I like it. It feels like a name I’d forgotten about, but do like, IYSWIM. I’ve not met one (at least, not for a very long time...) and didn’t really think of the bank.

Jagblue · 26/10/2018 20:29

Dumb and Dumber. Lloyd was Jim Carey.

greendale17 · 26/10/2018 20:32

Dated and never due a comeback. Don’t like it

RoseAndRose · 26/10/2018 20:32

Lloyd George

NightmareDaemon · 26/10/2018 20:33

I have young children so I associate it with Ninjago where the father calls his son LeLoyd (mispronouncing Lloyd).

ThunderInMyHeart · 26/10/2018 20:34

100% second @Jagblue - my immediate thought too

GlassOuijan · 26/10/2018 20:34

I like it.Smile

Here I am

OhOk · 26/10/2018 20:36

Me too NightmareDaemon!

fruityb · 26/10/2018 20:39

There’s a clip of James Acaster and a band member of the band he was part of was called Lloyd. All I can hear is “Lloyd that was not the plan” and it wouldn’t work for me!

NarcolepticOuchMouse · 26/10/2018 20:46

@fruityb I know exactly what you're talking about 😂

Violetparis · 26/10/2018 20:49

My first association is the Lloyd character Craig Charles played in Coronation Street.

sproutsandparsnips · 26/10/2018 21:22

Ds middle name is Lloyd....

SallyWD · 26/10/2018 22:33

It's a good name!

kaytee87 · 26/10/2018 22:43

It's a bit retro, not as dated as Gary, almost though.

AlliKaneErikson · 27/10/2018 00:36

There are a few children in DD’s (Primary) school called Lloyd, so it’s atill going strong here!

Elllicam · 27/10/2018 00:41

I also think of Lloyd (lelloyd) from ninjago.

TheWiseWomansFear · 27/10/2018 00:42

Lloyd the alien... sorry 90s kid

GoJohnnyGoGoGoGo · 27/10/2018 00:56

It's a fairly well known and used name in S Wales. There's a few Lloyd's in every school year. Definitely not seen as dated here.

trickandtreat · 27/10/2018 00:59

Gives me goosebumps. I don't know why but just creepy. A perfect name for a pervert.

trickandtreat · 27/10/2018 01:00

Floyd bothers me too.

MikeUniformMike · 27/10/2018 13:26

I like it a lot. Don't like Floyd.

CarryOnScreamingValenta · 27/10/2018 13:28

I think of the bank.
