Considering using Imola, as the name for are soon to be born baby girl, with Mae or Rose as a middle name. Know it's unusual, and can't find out much about its use as a name, and don't want to discuss it with family... Thanks

Yep. Ebola here.

PickleForPresident · 25/10/2018 08:11

Is that even a real name?

Sexnotgender · 25/10/2018 08:13

Dreadful.

Skyejuly · 25/10/2018 08:14

Ebola or Ebola spring to mind

toomanyeastereggsurghh · 25/10/2018 08:47

Please don’t. Not a nice sounding name.

Snipples · 25/10/2018 09:00

Yep terrible. Makes me think of Ebola. It's awful sorry.

Lipsticktraces · 25/10/2018 09:01

Race track or the Ebola virus.

Please don’t use Grace or Mae as middle names either. They’ve been done to death!

igglypiggly · 25/10/2018 09:04

I know a very beautiful Inma which I think is nicer than Imola

finallychangedmyusername · 25/10/2018 09:14

Yep I thought of Ebola and Immodium.
Grace and Mae are so dull and predictable in the middle.

What about Grace Iona? Or Imogen Mabel? Or Grace Imelda?

Singlenotsingle · 25/10/2018 09:16

Immolate means to drown or submerge under water!

lottiegarbanzo · 25/10/2018 09:17

Not drowning, burning.

ThanksItHasPockets · 25/10/2018 09:19

No it doesn’t. It means to sacrifice through burning. Very unpleasant.

Imelda is lovely though.

nicebitofquiche · 25/10/2018 09:22

I thought of Enola gay too. Don't think I'd like my baby associated with that.

RLOU30 · 25/10/2018 09:24

Ebola was my first thought before even opening thread

tastylancs · 25/10/2018 09:26

My first thought was a skin condition. Don't do it. Imelda fab.

RedDwarves · 25/10/2018 09:28

Immolate
Ebola
Moles

Not great.

florafawna · 25/10/2018 09:28

Imelda is much better.

Avegemitesandwich · 25/10/2018 09:30

I have learnt a new word today though: immolate. Never heard that before, now how can I drop it into my every day vocab? Smile

Singlenotsingle · 25/10/2018 09:48

Yes, sorry, Igot that one wrong. The dictionary says it means 'to sacrifice, usually by burning'! Argh! That's even worse!

lottiegarbanzo · 25/10/2018 09:53

Pretty grim isn't it. People still do it from time to time - set fire to themselves as an extreme form of protest.

Srilli · 25/10/2018 09:56

Instantly thought of Ebola

IzzyGrey · 25/10/2018 10:50

It makes me think of moles and ebola

NoSquirrels · 25/10/2018 10:54

Yes, sorry - immolate for me too Sad

MonkeyToucher · 25/10/2018 13:11

Ebola, sorry!

DC2018 · 25/10/2018 17:49

Really don't like it sorry!
