Theo, Vincent or Cillian?

busymamakins1 · 24/10/2018 20:22

Shortlisted our three favourite boys names, as agreed with my other half!!

Vincent would be "Vinnny".

Theo

Or Cillian?

They're all really different, anyone have a fave??

Theo’s are everywhere. There is always at least one, normally more, in every baby group I go to.

I’d probably pick Cillian.

busymamakins1 · 24/10/2018 20:49

Ah really, I was kinda hoping it wasn't too popular!!

I LOVE Vincent, not popular but well known and it seems to have aged quite well. It was my shortlist (20 years ago) but I had a girl.

I like Vinny too

I'm really not keen on Cillian, and Theo is alright.

busymamakins1 · 24/10/2018 21:26

Thank you!! I love Vince too, and I love the song Vincent 😍

The only one I like is Theo but wouldn't use it because of how popular it's gotten, sorry

Awrite · 24/10/2018 21:29

I love them all. Really love them.

Probably wouldn't go for Theo.

Would go for Vincent. Love Vinny but not Vince.

AdaColeman · 24/10/2018 21:30

Cillian or Vincent.
Theo is very popular.

RavenWings · 24/10/2018 21:30

Cillian, no contest imo.
Vincent is nice but doesn't begin to measure up, and Theo is wet.

DC2018 · 24/10/2018 21:31

I like Cillian best. Really like Theo but agree it's very popular now x

SuburbanRhonda · 24/10/2018 21:32

This is the second Cillian thread this week. I’d always worry it might be read as Gillian if it was written down but more, unless you’re Irish, it seems a bit try-hard.

Vincent I like. Not Vinny.

Theo isn’t popular round here so I guess its about where you live.

17caterpillars1mouse · 24/10/2018 21:35

I like Vincent, though not as keen in Vinnie but it fits in well with the Alfie, Archie, Freddie, Robbie trend

Cillian is nice enough

I like Theo but they are everywhere

busymamakins1 · 24/10/2018 21:41

Hmmm I get the "Gillian" thing now you've mentioned it, but hopefully it wouldn't be a problem too much if the name becomes more commonplace? I never realised Theo was so bloody popular!! Think that ones off the list 😵

needsanewname · 24/10/2018 21:42

Theo is hugely popular now, funnily enough I named DD the female version of it and it's nowhere near as popular, we veto's Theo/Theodore because of how popular it's gotten.

Go for Cillian.

motortroll · 24/10/2018 21:44

Vincent is my fave boys name. I wouldn't use it now because if someone I know (that and not having a baby lol) but I love it so much!

KitKatCHA · 24/10/2018 21:55

I like Cillian, although I would use the English version with a K - that's what DC3 would have been called if she was a boy.

Sophronia · 24/10/2018 22:16

Vincent

SputnikBear · 24/10/2018 22:19

Silly-Un? Surely that will attract jokes and bullying?

RavenWings · 24/10/2018 22:22

Well no it wouldn't, because that's not how you pronounce the name. Ffs, Google is available if you're unfamiliar with a name.

Silly-un. Hmm

SputnikBear · 24/10/2018 22:30

Lots of people will probably pronounce it like that, right or wrong.

funnyoldonion · 24/10/2018 22:32

Vincent 👍

loveshinealight · 24/10/2018 23:26

Silly-un

Really @SputnikBear?

I think you'll be on your own with that one! Vincent and Cillian are on my list too. I love Cillian but not sure if it's having a real resurgence just now and will be the new Conor or Liam,

Lipsticktraces · 25/10/2018 05:26

Vincent is a lovely name. Vinny not so much. I’d leave it as Vincent, much more tatsteful.

Cillian and Reuben are both getting quite common now. I wouldn’t pick either for that reason, although I do think Cillian is a lovely name.

VenusInSpurs · 25/10/2018 05:32

How is Cillian pronounced?

I would pick Theo. There have been a few round here over the last couple of years but certainly not ‘one in every Baby group’ frequency.

Escolar · 25/10/2018 05:32

Theo

VenusInSpurs · 25/10/2018 05:34

Oh, I see it is “Kill’yun”.

I have known a Killian. Female.

I don’t like it at all.
