Cedric?

What are all your thoughts on Cedric?. His brothers would be Arthur, Lorcan and John.

Other suggestions welcome.

My first thought is Harry Potter, but that’s not a bad thing.

It’s a nice name and goes really well with your other sons’ names.

Reminds me of Cecil. Unusual. I like it as a name But not sure about calling a child that name, now. Split.

I like it, it has good associations for me as I used to work with a charming and funny Cedric.

Seems like very mixed reviews at the minute. It’s the only name that’s reallt felt like the one but will keep on looking and come back to this later

His brothers' names are lovely, so keep searching because you've obviously got it in you to choose a great name for your son

I'm always reading these bonkers name thread in sheer amazement at all the 'yay it's wonderful!! (swoons), 'love it!', 'Go for it!!' , when in actual fact the name is hideous.

Do people get some kick out of encouraging a kid to be named so horribly? For life?? Cedric!!!????

Where I live anyway that really is an awful name no one uses. Please think carefully.

Cedric is infinitely better than yet another [insert over-used boys' name].

It's clearly not to everyone's taste, but that doesn't mean nobody will see the appeal.

Since the Op asked "What are all your thoughts on Cedric?", I, amongst others have responded and have given my thoughts on the name Cedric.

Underused names are underused for a reason generally.

On threads like these I always try and think of the child. I don't think he'd thank her for a name like that.

But you didn't just give your opinion on the name - which is what the OP asked for.

You expressed incredulity that anyone could like it - to the extent you seem to think people are lying (getting some sort of kick out of encouraging it - I mean, WTF?).
