Quinn - boy or girl?

I've took a love for the name Quinn. It's a unisex name anyway and sometimes I see it in the girls suggestions and sometimes in the boys suggestions on the MN thread.

But is it more of a boys name or a girls name to you? I seem to love it for both and can't decide which one I'd prefer it for!!!

I know two - both girls.

SemperIdem · 04/10/2018 20:36

One of the few names I think is truly unisex. I wouldn’t assume either way.

FinallyGotAnIPhone · 04/10/2018 20:38

I know a Quin (n) ? who is a boy. I had no idea it was a girl’s name.

pixieloux · 04/10/2018 20:38

I much prefer it on a boy personally.

FogCutter · 04/10/2018 20:42

It's completely unisex, I've met 2 (1 male and 1 female!).

daisypond · 04/10/2018 20:50

Better on a boy. Dreadful on a girl.

Peachbubble · 04/10/2018 20:50

I know a female Quinn, but have heard it used for a boy too.

TamiTayorismyparentingguru · 04/10/2018 20:51

I know a few - fairly equal mix of boys and girls. I agree that it is a genuinely unisex name and it would be perfectly acceptable for either. I wouldn’t make assumptions if I heard the name because I would automatically think that it could be either boy or girl.

FWIW I think it’s a great name

stabbybitch · 04/10/2018 20:52

Definitely girl, Quen for a boy.

DC18 · 04/10/2018 21:15

I only know 1 female Quinn as she suits it. Can't imagine it on a boy now x

E20mom · 04/10/2018 21:40

I'd assume girl.

kettleonplease · 04/10/2018 21:45

Boy or girl

AuntieStella · 04/10/2018 21:45

Boy

Sunflower321 · 04/10/2018 22:19

100% Boy

It sounds strong and made like Finn or Flynn!

IdaBWells · 04/10/2018 22:22

The only one I know is a 17 yr old girl.

Sunflower321 · 04/10/2018 22:22

Masculine like Finn or Flynn!

newroundhere · 04/10/2018 22:22

I'd also assume a girl

royaltrux · 04/10/2018 22:24

I knew a girl at school everyone called Quim don't do it!

bridgetreilly · 04/10/2018 22:24

Definitely boy. I think it's awful for a girl.

Sunflower321 · 04/10/2018 22:24

Last year more boys than girls were named Quinn.

Sunflower321 · 04/10/2018 22:25

Often a nickname for Quentin

Xiaoxiong · 04/10/2018 22:27

I know two boys named Quin, one short for Quinlan. So I would assume male, but could really go either way.

DramaAlpaca · 04/10/2018 22:27

It seems to be more of a girls' name but it's awful on both IMO. It's just another Irish surname appropriated for a first name.

Shadow1234 · 04/10/2018 22:28

I prefer it on a girl

Treaclespongeandcustard · 04/10/2018 22:31

Suits both. Girl Quinn on Glee and Boy Quinn on Homeland. I love it Grin
