Middle name for Aurora

Aurora is a strong contender for our daughter but I’m not sure if the middle names we like go with it? Daisy, Lily, Margot, Willow and Xanthe, leaning more towards Margot or Willow. Does it matter if they don’t flow? Suggestions welcome.

I immediately thought Grace

DC18 · 04/10/2018 16:49

I think Aurora Willow sounds nice together. Other suggestions;
Aurora Saorsie
Aurora Eloise
Aurora Miley
Aurora Quinn
Aurora Belle (very Disney but I like it)

bodysut · 04/10/2018 16:54

I also love Aurora Quinn as a PP suggested Smile

chocatoo · 04/10/2018 16:58

It needs to be something short (1 syllable) otherwise it will be a big mouthful and sound complicated rather than flowing.
May
Grace
Jade
Joan
Rose
Kate

Our surname is one syllable so it’s going to be difficult to find something just flows with that also. Quinn sounds great with Aurora but doesn’t with our surname, for example. Needs to be two syllables to bridge the gap I think as I don’t want to go four plus.

Dawn

Just go with a short name

MooFeatures · 04/10/2018 17:04

Hetty?

daisypond · 04/10/2018 17:08

I think a two-syllable name is fine - I tend to think one-syllable middle names give an impression of filler names, even if they are in themselves nice names. I'd go for something that starts with a consonant and is more simple than Aurora. Margot is my favourite out of your suggestions - it has a bit of oomph to it.

Aurora Eve
Aurora Emily
Aurora Kate
Aurora Niamh
Aurora Rose

Aurora Lucille
Aurora Blue
Aurora Camille
Aurora Delphine
Aurora Bea

Beauteafully · 04/10/2018 17:49

I think if your last name is one syllable than the middle should be two. Maybe Aurora Violet?

Beauteafully · 04/10/2018 17:50

Wait that's 3. Lol

Beauteafully · 04/10/2018 17:51

I still like it though. Aurora Violet Smith for instance. Nice flow

moredoll · 04/10/2018 17:51

Grace or Jane

17caterpillars1mouse · 04/10/2018 17:54

I really like Aurora Margot and think it flows well..also like Aurora Lily from your choices

Like Daisy the least

KellyMarieTunstall2 · 04/10/2018 17:58

Jane

Peachbubble · 04/10/2018 18:03

Aurora Juliet
Aurora Chloe
Aurora Phoebe
Aurora Jasmine

lottiegarbanzo · 04/10/2018 18:03

I think they flow ok and sound good.

Aurora Margot Smith
Aurora Xanthe Jones
Aurora Willow Wales

You're right than one syl would sound staccato, too many would be a mouthful e.g. Aurora Elizabeth James.

lottiegarbanzo · 04/10/2018 18:06

Oh yes, Aurora Jasmine Jones would be nice.
Aurora Mary Miles
Aurora Myrtle May.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 04/10/2018 18:27

Unless a mn is a family name then yes it is important that they flow other wise what's the point.
Aurora Jasmine is beautiful
as Is Aurora Daisy /Aurora Willow.
Aurora Jade
Aurora Monet
Aurora Grace
Aurora Juliet
Aurora Violet
Aurora Nicole
Aurora Jane
Aurora Lily

Ours has Cáitlín (Koyt-Leen) We considered Willow too as well as Maeve and Niamh which has been suggested.

We just made sure to avoid anything that had any Rs in it!

Orchiddingme · 04/10/2018 18:47

I love the name Aurora! It was going to be my pick on the thread 'what would you like to be called'? I think I could have pulled it off.

EffieP · 04/10/2018 21:48

It’s good to hear that our options are ok. I like a lot of the suggestions too so thank you for those. I like Niamh and Maeve with Aurora and they don’t actually sound bad with our surname but we have absolutely no Irish connection so I think it’d be a bit weird for us to use them lol.

I agree that Aurora is r heavy but I think it’s vowel heavy too which is why I worried about Margot and Willow with it. They do both sound good with our surname, I think lol.

I think you need an unusual middle name to go with Aurora. Names like Emily sound weird with Aurora! My daughters middle name is winter. I'm not saying use that but something in that vein.

Aurora Luna
Aurora Eden
Aurora Valentina
Aurora Storm
Aurora crystal
Aurora Summer
Aurora Tempest
