I love the name Esther.... I always think of Judy Garland in Meet me in St Louis.

Both are prefectly fine names, but I'm not fond of either of them. Esther is more classic, but has always seemed a bit fusty to me. Eileen just seems a bit dated.

Everyone who hears my Esther's name says "oh I love that" I don't think you need to worry about the old fashioned ness. Old fashioned is so in anyway. Even Mabel has made a comeback!

I really like Esther.
I know two, both in their 30s.
For me it's more of a classic name than an old lady name. It's lovely.

I know/have known non Jewish Esther's of all age ranges! I wouldn't worry about that.

Go for it OP Smile
