Does ANYONE like the name Basil for a boy?

Or is there a reason all I get is negative opinions????😂

You'll get loads of people on MN saying it's a great name. But there's a reason there aren't a load of baby Basils running around.

I think the fact you felt you had to put (serious) in your thread title tells you everything you need to know!

They live in California.

No negative comments so far.

Our vet is full of Basils. I can't see it as a human name any more.

I wanted to name my beagle Basil. It's such a beagley name.

The only basil I know is referred to as 'boom boom'.

But that might be too old a reference for today's kids? Although he's only earlier twenties.
