For a girl?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BertrandRussell · 26/09/2018 16:37

"Any reasons why Lolo isn't a great name?"

Because you are naming an adult woman.

Hoppinggreen · 26/09/2018 16:38

I have come across a Male Spanish gypsy with that name but apart from that I would imagine it’s mainly a femal porn star name

PiperPublickOccurrences · 26/09/2018 16:41

I have come across a Male Spanish gypsy with that name

You've been watching the same box set on Netflix as me... The character in that series is Manolo. Nicknamed Lolo.

Hoppinggreen · 26/09/2018 16:42

El Mar de plastico? piper
Do ya want to know who dunnit?

Sallygoroundthemoon · 26/09/2018 16:45

Er..no to Lolo.

LynetteScavo · 26/09/2018 16:46

Lolo sounds like the nn for a boy called Lawrence.

I can imagine it now "Lolo, don't forget your cello"

TheCatFromOuterSpace · 26/09/2018 16:46

How about Dolores, then you can nickname her Lolo until she gets old enough to decide for herself

PiperPublickOccurrences · 26/09/2018 16:48

Have seen it all, Hopping :-) my degree is Spanish so it helps me keep my understanding up. I watch it with the subtitles in Spanish too as that particular Lolo is incredibly hard to understand.

Have quite a soft spot for Hector though.

ParanoidGynodroid · 26/09/2018 16:56

As others have pointed out, it sounds like some sort of text speak acronym, like LOL,YOLO etc.

And it just sounds terrible anyway!

BluthsFrozenBananas · 26/09/2018 17:02

Lolo? No no

Lila, Lola or Laya fine

Lilo Lil, SHE IS A TART!!!

jadedgranger · 26/09/2018 17:03

I know a Lolo, who is actually named Laura. Think it's cute but only as a nickname

DuckingMel · 26/09/2018 17:07

Instant thought is Lolo Ferrari. So... no.

espoleta · 26/09/2018 17:10

I love it!

scottboy · 26/09/2018 17:17

I'm all for unusual names but this is a bit too weird, sorryConfused

I like Lilo if you're after a similar sound.
If you're after repetitiveness, what about Coco, Kiki, Mimi or Gigi?

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 26/09/2018 17:20

I thought Lolo Ferrari too. Admittedly no-one under about 40 is likely to have that reference though, and if it's a recognised Nigerian name then it's probably fine if that's your heritage.

ems137 · 26/09/2018 17:22

Reminds me of this song

iggleypiggly · 26/09/2018 17:22

Reminds me of a lolo ball I had as a child Smile

EmpressAdultHumanFemale · 26/09/2018 17:23

I like Lilo if you're after a similar sound.

I'm guessing this is a typo? Grin

SemperIdem · 26/09/2018 17:25

I’m with ems

Hoppinggreen · 26/09/2018 17:28

piper I love Hector! Nacho is a little shit though and Marta is annoying
Have you seen no2 as well?
I speak Spanish but DH doesn’t so he relies on subtitles ( helps me too) and we love the conservative translations of the swearing!
Going to try el ministerio del tiempo next
Anyway, apologies for the derail everyone

twattymctwatterson · 26/09/2018 17:30

It's not a name op

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 26/09/2018 17:31

Another one who instantly thinks Lolo Ferrari.

Big no no.

BalloonDinosaur · 26/09/2018 17:31

Sorry OP, but it's a terrible name. She will never be taken seriously, which is shit but it's true.

NerrSnerr · 26/09/2018 17:35

I thought of Lolo Jones the Olympic hurdler (and didn't she do the bobsled at the Winter Olympics as well?)

RaininSummer · 26/09/2018 17:35

Crikey no, what a mean thing to do to a child (unless you are Nigerian or you want a porn star career for her).
