just no.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 22/09/2018 21:14

C'mon Kes...c'mon

CharlieSays13 · 22/09/2018 21:14

As in the lager.....

Sungura · 22/09/2018 21:16

I think you may want to reconsider this one.

I prefer Castelmain XXXX known as Ekseksekseks at Brownies.

toffee1000 · 22/09/2018 21:23

Nope. There are much nicer nature names for girls out there. It also sounds more masculine to me.

Wolfiefan · 22/09/2018 21:23

Why would you?

YourVagesty · 22/09/2018 21:24

I know an adult Kestrel and nobody bats an eyelid. However, I live in one of the most bohemian parts of the UK so every other child is a Rainbow, Stag or a Gandalf. I therefore have no idea how acceptable it would be outside out this town.

ReggieKrayDoYouKnowMyName · 22/09/2018 21:24

Kes for short.

Jeippinghmip · 22/09/2018 21:24

Please don’t.

YourVagesty · 22/09/2018 21:25

P.s. the Kestrel I know is also female, if it helps?

And I wouldn't associate it with the beer. I'm barely aware that Kestrel beer exists tbh.

Theducksarenotmyfriends · 22/09/2018 21:25

I prefer it for a boy personally

NTitled · 22/09/2018 21:27

Hawk? Pigeon? Plover? Tit?

MissKummerspeck · 22/09/2018 21:27
Grin
Threeandabit · 22/09/2018 21:27

No, but if you like the sound, how about

Keziah
Karen
Kendra

Or if you like the bird / nature link

Wren
Robyn
Willow
Fern
Brooke

overnightangel · 22/09/2018 21:28

Carlsbergspecialbrew-Owl Smith

Kilpitlees · 22/09/2018 21:28

Manoeuvres in the dark?

TigerDroveAgain · 22/09/2018 21:31

I like it: and I don’t think I’ve ever heard of it as lager, just makes me think of the bird.

Now if you were going to call her Sipsmith or Tanqueray, that would give me a problem!

PippilottaLongstocking · 22/09/2018 21:32

I like it
If the above posters put you off though you could consider Kester (traditionally a boys name but I think it could work for a girl) or Hester has a similar feel to it too

Petalflowers · 22/09/2018 21:34

Original. I quite like it. Very hippy though. I associate with the bird, not beer.

If we can have Robin and Wren, why not Kestrel?

Purplehammer · 22/09/2018 21:36

Castlemain only added the xxxx because it’ s.an Australian lager and the Aussies can’t spell piss.

Junglefowl · 22/09/2018 21:40

Not sure. It’s a bit like calling a child Eagle or Peregrine Falcon ? Or Sparrow Hawk?
Ie a bit of a statement for me but I do love nature and all wildlife stuff normally.

I’m sure if I met a Kestrel and knew them I’d soon love it

Rainatnight · 22/09/2018 21:40

No.

JennyHolzersGhost · 22/09/2018 21:41

Has anybody said Ballonz yet ?
Ballonz.
