Malachi

Is it pronounced
Ma-la-KAI
or
Ma-la-KEE

Is there any other ways you'd spell it too?

Thank you 😊

Definitely the second one IMO... kee.
Think you can spell it Malachy too

Idontneedrescuing · 15/09/2018 19:15

I would say the first one - have only ever heard it that way

Namechangemum100 · 15/09/2018 19:16

Kai for me

Heavystream · 15/09/2018 19:17

Kai

JLG19 · 15/09/2018 19:17

Kai.

AuntieStella · 15/09/2018 19:18

Kai

mikapatika · 15/09/2018 19:23

Deffo first one

StuntCroissant · 15/09/2018 19:30

Kai

BikeRunSki · 15/09/2018 19:33

I know one of each

SELara · 15/09/2018 19:36

I’ve known several (DD’s classes) and it’s always been Kai. Maybe it depends on where you are- I’m in London

Susannach · 15/09/2018 19:55

Malachi = KAI
Malachy = KEE

Cosmoa · 15/09/2018 19:59

Kai.

There's a woman who lives two doors down and she mustn't have keys to her own house cause every single day I hear her screaming MALACHI for her son to come and let her in 😂

NerrSnerr · 15/09/2018 20:00

I think the first one as well.

bychoiceornot · 15/09/2018 20:03

Kai

sonlypuppyfat · 15/09/2018 20:03

Sorry to derail but I know a Cy pronounced Kai, has anyone else

ReginaPhalange89 · 15/09/2018 20:04

Kai . I've never heard it pronounced any other way. Doesn't sound right with Kee!

RedPencil · 15/09/2018 20:05

First one. Never heard the second

butlerswharf · 15/09/2018 20:05

Kai

Peachbubble · 15/09/2018 20:06

First one - Kai

ChateauneufDuTwat · 15/09/2018 20:06

That spelling = Kai.

But in Ireland, Malachy = kee.

Rockyroadmallow · 15/09/2018 20:08

Kai

I've never heard of Kee

treaclesoda · 15/09/2018 20:08

I probably wouldn't pronounce it with a hard K. Where I am, it's generally pronounced Malaghy Grin. Although that's not to say that it's the correct pronunciation!

showmeahero · 15/09/2018 20:10

Kee

But that's only because of my Irish Heritage, I think the overall opinion is Kai..

cloudtree · 15/09/2018 20:14

kai

BikeRunSki · 15/09/2018 20:36

Actually, the “kee” I know has Irish roots and is spelt Malachy. The “Kai” has not, and is Malachi.
