I like it Smile

Goostacean · 01/09/2018 02:57

Very American, but that’s not a criticism. I like that it’s neither too casual nor stuffy, and that it is unlikely to be shortened. I struggle to imagine anyone over the age of 25 called Jesse though...

On balance, not to my taste - personally - but inoffensive. If you love it, use it!

KittyMcKitty · 01/09/2018 03:25

It was my fil’s name - very Old Testament

Sophronia · 01/09/2018 03:44

I like it

Flamingosnbears · 01/09/2018 05:28

Great name

Quangot · 01/09/2018 06:25

Not keen, sorry.

KingKongNoWrong · 01/09/2018 07:07

I really like it

kaytee87 · 01/09/2018 07:18

Nope. It's an insult in Scotland and possibly some parts of northern England

mrbob · 01/09/2018 07:25

I like. Nice and different but not "different"

RoomWithALoon · 01/09/2018 07:44

I love it. But I would probably have a think about how heavily "jessie" meaning "sissy" features in the local slang.

OutPinked · 01/09/2018 07:47

I love it

Maireadd · 01/09/2018 08:20

Love it

Heratnumber7 · 01/09/2018 08:24

"You big Jesse". Not just in Scotland.

Is it for a boy or girl?

Rainbowtrees · 01/09/2018 08:25

I love it. Thought about it for DS but didn’t go for it due to the negative connotations.

PenelopeThePufferfish · 01/09/2018 09:27

I love it.

pontiouspilates · 01/09/2018 09:38

Love it. It's a strong, OT name and quite underused.

Icklepup · 01/09/2018 09:41

Love it!

ladycarlotta · 01/09/2018 09:43

lovely. I grew up in the north and I still don't automatically think 'sissy' when I hear it.

Ohyesiam · 01/09/2018 10:25

Lovely.

Treaclepie19 · 01/09/2018 10:25

I love it, seems to get mixed reviews though.

WhereIsMyDressingGown · 01/09/2018 11:31

Absolutely love it.

kaytee87 · 01/09/2018 11:50

A poor boy that joined our school in s4 was called Jesse. He was bullied mercilessly, it was awful. He tried to convince everyone his name was Jerry, very sad. He was actually quite a cool guy tbh but people wouldn't give him a chance.

MammaUpNorth · 01/09/2018 14:08

That's really sad re boy above. I really don't understand bullying...

I love Jesse, actually I'm more and more leaning towards Jessie for our daughter.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 01/09/2018 14:10

It's alright but it does feel feminine to me.

Sunflower321 · 01/09/2018 16:02

Sounds so girly!
