Can’t choose between the two! Older child is Robert. Known as Robert and Robbie equally.
Thanks

Edward

It might help you to decide if you think about the potential nicknames & how they work together. Do you like Robbie & Eddie, or Robbie & Will? Robbie & Ed or Robbie & Billy? Or you might have Robbie & William, which sounds a bit like the singer.

I like Edward slightly better than William myself.

MrsMolehillMountain · 24/08/2018 23:49

Edward

Jeippinghmip · 24/08/2018 23:53

Both are lovely. Sorry, that’s no help.

Greeneyedgeek83 · 25/08/2018 00:02

Robert and Edward sound better together

AppleKatie · 25/08/2018 00:03

Robert and Edward

Robbie and Teddy

If you choose William you’d end up with Bill and Bob!

BreconBeBuggered · 25/08/2018 00:07

William. No question.

DiegoMadonna · 25/08/2018 00:16

Edward definitely.

Goostacean · 25/08/2018 02:30

Edward! All the way.

woodfires · 25/08/2018 02:31

Edward.

Westbury · 25/08/2018 02:36

Lots of love for Edward! It’s always been our front runner. I’m just worried because it’s massively increased in popularity over the last few years and I know quite a few who have been born recently.

Edward

Ginandplatonic · 25/08/2018 03:04

Another vote for Edward. William is nice too but more of them around here (Australia tho so prob completely irrelevant to you Smile )

MikeUniformMike · 25/08/2018 10:42

Edward nn Eddy.
Edward William is nice.

KitNCaboodle · 25/08/2018 10:44

I know of an Edward nn Woody, if that makes a difference?

Prefer Edward to William. As pp said, you’ll have Bill and Bob with Robert and William

Sunflower321 · 25/08/2018 11:09

Edward

The William I know gets teased with Willy (at primary school).

ReginaPhalange89 · 25/08/2018 11:12

Sorry I'm going opposite, I prefer William. Edward is just an old man name to me.

I'm not overly keen on William either but I like that it can be shortened to Will or Liam.

kettleonplease · 25/08/2018 11:52

William massively popular here in Australia (number 1 last year I think), and I am yet to meet an Edward. Though Australia probably isn't of concern to you!

I'd go with William, Edward always sounds so formal and public school boy to me

thegreylady · 25/08/2018 11:56

We have a 9 year old Edward (dgs) who is probably one of the loveliest little boys ever not that I’m biased of course.

hungryhippie · 25/08/2018 12:03

I really dislike Edward and the nicknames Ed, Eddie and Ted.
William for me

Icklepup · 25/08/2018 12:05

Edward

Dani18 · 25/08/2018 12:09

I like Edward best. I don't think it's too popular x

Westbury · 25/08/2018 17:08

Thanks everyone. Edward definitely seems most popular. Thanks for all the shortening suggestions too, we do have one in mind but I like most of them really (Ned is an option too) so we will see how it pans out.
I’m not keen on Billy/Bill, which is another argument against Edward.

Argument against William, I mean!

I love William, but sorry, not Edward.
