I prefer Iris.

PassportBridgetPants · 22/08/2018 16:30

Mina - have heard of a few Irises but not one Mina yet.

CatPatrol · 22/08/2018 16:30

Iris is often used to signify a rainbow baby (one after a loss) so if that is not of relevance to you, be prepared for others thinking that is behind the name.

Peachbubble · 22/08/2018 16:31

Iris would be my choice

Aprilshowersinaugust · 22/08/2018 16:32

Iris.
Mina the minge isn't a nice nn imo.

Lindah1 · 22/08/2018 16:32

Both lovely sorry I'm no help!only thing may be would be pronunciation of Mina could be meena or mine-a maybe a bit confusing?

schopenhauer · 22/08/2018 16:32

Iris definitely.

MrsMolehillMountain · 22/08/2018 16:36

Iris

MalachisMum1 · 22/08/2018 16:42

I much prefer Iris x

LeeMiller · 22/08/2018 16:48

Iris is lovely. I think of it as quite a 'now' name, along with Violet, Florence, Edith, Ivy and other names from the late Victorian/Edwardian era. Seems quite popular.

Mina is more unusual and it's a name that works well internationally (I've met Japanese and Persian Minas). I like it, it reminds me of Mina Loy and Mina Harker from Dracula.

ReginaPhalange89 · 22/08/2018 16:58

Definitely not Mina for me, only because it's a character in Still Game. I guess if you're not Scottish it's fine

Cbeebiesrehab · 22/08/2018 17:27

Why on Earth would anyone think Mina the minge??Confused Besides, I know people that call their vagina a Mary and that still gets used.
I know quite a few babies called Iris so would go with Mina and would probably call her Mimi when she’s little!

Aprilshowersinaugust · 22/08/2018 17:31

Teen ds's would say minge, dd's are more dignified with Mary.
To clarify all dc know the correct name.

Cbeebiesrehab · 22/08/2018 17:33

What’s Mina got to do with minge though?lol

Greeneyedgeek83 · 22/08/2018 17:37

Iris without a doubt

wildewillow · 22/08/2018 17:43

I love Iris. I know of a little Mina though and she's lovely, just not keen on the name.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 22/08/2018 17:58

Definitely Iris.

AtticaRose · 22/08/2018 18:13

Iris.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 22/08/2018 18:33

Iris. Don't like the eeee sound in Mina.

kenandbarbie · 22/08/2018 18:36

I prefer iris but it's very popular now. Mina is nice too.

SemperIdem · 22/08/2018 18:38

I prefer Mina.

I don’t like Iris at all.

MonsterRehab23 · 22/08/2018 18:41

I know a little Mina (meena),it really suits her.

SuperstarDJ · 22/08/2018 19:29

They’re both nice names. Iris at a push though either choice is good :)

buttercup54321 · 22/08/2018 19:33

Meany Mina. Go for Iris.

IllHaveALargeGlassOfRed · 22/08/2018 19:42

Iris is lovely. To me Mina is an old ladies name - my horrible step mother was called Mina, short for Jemima.
