Cordelia and Ernest

The names are nice for the existing children. Wilhelmina will probably be shortened to Willa and Leopold to Leo. Emmeline and Ernest will go best - they're the same sort of style.

CatkinToadflax · 20/08/2018 19:06

Ptolemy or Ptarquin?

5000KallaxHoles · 20/08/2018 19:06

Dave.

Boy or girl.

pipilangstrumpf · 20/08/2018 19:11

Love love love your girls names. Probably like Emmeline the most but Tabitha a close second. Favourite of boys is probably Ernest.

ScrambledSmegs · 20/08/2018 19:18

I've been spelling Wilhelmina wrong all these years.

Emmeline sounds too similar to Wilhemina. Think you should go for Gertrude instead.

CapCat · 20/08/2018 19:21

Not the reaction I was expecting but it has made my day Grin

Definitely real children.

Wilhelmina is a family name and I decide to just roll with the very old fashioned style for the rest as I like it and it would be strange to have Wilhelmina, Jack and Eva or something.

I'm not too bothered about popular names as long as they're not top 10 but I had noted the Tabitha - cat thing myself (actually I quite liked the nickname Kitty for a Tabitha but figured that was probably too twee even for me)

I like Emmeline and Ernest. I think they go best with the names you've chosen, but they do sound like characters from an Oscar Wilde play altogether.

EmmaC78 · 20/08/2018 19:25

Do your children use their full names OP? Just curious.

Out of your list I like Tanitha and Emanuel (with nn Manny).

TigerlilyMoon · 20/08/2018 19:27

Avocado, chia, flax.... Waitrosita? Mark or Spencer?

AnyaMoondial · 20/08/2018 19:30

Cordelia and Ernest

CapCat · 20/08/2018 19:34

Emma - No, they generally go by Ina and Leo

I would like to point out if OP had posted names from the other end of the spectrum and had such piss take responses people would be crying out calling MN such a cruel place! Such double standards.
Lovely names. Like Emmaline from your girls list but I don’t think your boys names quite live up to existing children’s names!

Cbeebiesrehab · 20/08/2018 19:55

Emmeline sorry...don’t know what happened there.

GetOffTheTableMabel · 20/08/2018 19:57

Hmm. Rees-Mogg goes well with both of them. Do you think it has potential as a first name perhaps?

GetOffTheTableMabel · 20/08/2018 19:59

I should have added some sort of smiley face there. Am kidding of course. As proof of that, I have a Constance. Any good?

Wallabyone · 20/08/2018 20:00

I like your names and shortenings OP Smile I love the name Cordelia and it has always featured on my shortlist.

DiabolicalMess · 20/08/2018 20:01
