I know it could sound ridiculous, but it occured to me a couple of weeks ago and for some reason it's really grown on me? I just love how natural and sensitive it sounds. Grin

I know a Parsley but she is a girl. I got used to it to be honest. Basil is one of my favourite boys names but dh wouldnt hear of it.

Beetlebum1981 · 05/08/2018 19:40

Lettice is a Victorian name that I've always loved! I can just imagine myself in the park..'Come here Lettice darling'. 😂
I also have a relative on my family tree whose first name was Crabtree?!

CoolCarrie · 05/08/2018 19:40

Do you have a dog called Dill? Awful name for a child, great for a green lion 🦁

buttercup54321 · 05/08/2018 19:41

Parsley the Lion.
Don't be so ridiculous. You are naming a person!!!

Branleuse · 05/08/2018 19:41

Is your son going to be a rabbit?

WorldCupnovice · 05/08/2018 19:41

I think that Parsley is an excellent choice.......as long as you call the next three Sage, Rosemary and Thyme!

BackforGood · 05/08/2018 19:41

This is another human being you are naming, remember, not just your cute accessory.

Am so going to try and remember this, for other Baby Names Threads Smile

DannyDogg · 05/08/2018 19:43

Prefer Spikenard or Woodruff but Parsley’s ok 😉

RaindropsOnKittens43 · 05/08/2018 19:44

I read your thread title a couple of hours ago OP and thought Parsley was a silly name. But it's grown on me since and now I quite like it
Yeah, but pretty much everyone's initial reaction has been 'WHAAAAT! That's a stupid name'; even if it has grown on you OP, do you really want your DS to go through life with people laughing when they hear his name - it would be very wearing, wouldn't it?

Starbucksbasic123 · 05/08/2018 19:44

BASIL!!!!

EdisonLightBulb · 05/08/2018 19:44

It's fine if you have three more called Sage, Rosemary and Thyme.

MrsMoastyToasty · 05/08/2018 19:44

Are you going to Scarborough Fair?

AnElderlyLadyOfMediumHeight · 05/08/2018 19:45

Parsley in German is Petersilie - call him Peter, then you're really calling him Parsley (sort of) and still giving him a proper sensible (and in fact very underused these days) name.

TwitterQueen1 · 05/08/2018 19:45

NOTHING has made me laugh as much as this thread has for donkeys years. Seriously.

Can I go off piste and suggest Zebedee?

Hello1290 · 05/08/2018 19:46

I'm not keen on the spelling - Parsleigh or Parsli or Parslee would be better ?

TheFaerieQueene · 05/08/2018 19:47

I’m a very friendly lion called Parsley.

Doyoumind · 05/08/2018 19:47

Why not give it a French twist and call him Persil?

buckingfrolicks · 05/08/2018 19:47

Elvis Parsley?

Bananalanacake · 05/08/2018 19:47

In German parsley is petersilie so how about Peter. Nice and normalSmile

Wingbing · 05/08/2018 19:48

Parsley could only work if you come from a long illustrious line of clowns

Wingbing · 05/08/2018 19:48

Oops posted too soon. Meant to add Grin

Tiredofit · 05/08/2018 19:49

I quite like it but it could be hard to live with. I would consider it for a dog though and I've taken more time deciding on my dogs names than the children's.

Jasperoonicle · 05/08/2018 19:50

Parsley is a woeful name but It might grow on me...... in Thyme....

Figgygal · 05/08/2018 19:51

Yup it's ridiculous

Tiredofit · 05/08/2018 19:52

My sisters friend has a Zebedee. It seems quite normal now!
