Boy : Francis Jack
Girl: Frances Marianne Jean

Sorry but I really don't like them.
I prefer Marianne Frances Jean and Jack Francis

greendale17 · 09/07/2018 22:23

I don’t like Marianne or Jean whatsoever

Jj2431 · 09/07/2018 22:24

The middle names are family names.

I have loved everyone I’ve ever met with the name Frances -beautiful, strong, kind women. A 50% hit rate with Francis though. But I love the names, and the combinations.

DramaAlpaca · 09/07/2018 22:26

They are good, classic names.

I adore Marianne.

violeticecream · 09/07/2018 22:27

I think they are fab names. Love both

TroubledLichen · 09/07/2018 22:29

Both fab!

pennycarbonara · 09/07/2018 22:29

All fine, but not being a fan of abbreviated names as given names, am wondering if the elder Jack he's named after is actually John or something, in which case would go for that.

You don't hear of as many Franci/es at the moment - though I did read something about retro names mentioning a baby Frank - they are nice classic names that are not overwhelmingly common.

SoyDora · 09/07/2018 22:31

Lovely names

MrsMoastyToasty · 09/07/2018 22:32

I like Francis but would prefer it with John (Jack traditionally is a nickname for John) otherwise you might end up with Frank Jack which seems like too many "k" sounds at the end.

motortroll · 09/07/2018 22:34

My girl is Frances so Ill say awesome names! I love Marianne!

I would say I don't think jack hoes and John or James sound better (my dad is Francis James)

motortroll · 09/07/2018 22:34

Hoes means goes!!

butlerswharf · 09/07/2018 22:35

I really don't like them but it's not my baby. Follow your heart - it's up to you no one else. Smile

IHeartKingThistle · 09/07/2018 22:35

Love them both. My gran was Frances.

PunkrockerGirl59 · 09/07/2018 22:36

Lovely classic names that will withstand the test of time.

bridgetreilly · 09/07/2018 22:37

I would probably choose Francesca rather than Frances for a girl. Not a fan of Marianne. Francesca Jean would be lovely.

Pompom42 · 09/07/2018 22:38

Like the boys version but not the girls.
Prefer Marianne as the first name.
When you are using family names it doesn't matter what others think tho

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 10/07/2018 08:53

Love the name Frances/Francis, good choice !

Lycanthropology · 10/07/2018 09:09

Francis/Frances - great.

Marianne, fine; Jack, too nicknamey.

MariaMadita · 10/07/2018 09:27

I'd prefer Marianne Frances Jean and Francis Jack 3rdName.

But that's obviously just my personal preference. Your names are perfectly fine :)!

RedDwarves · 10/07/2018 10:01

Francis Jack is fine.

Prefer Marianne to Frances for a girl.

AlwaysTheEnd · 10/07/2018 10:03

All great names. Both male and female versions are nice classic names that aren't weird or hard to spell. Would you use an abbreviation. I prefer the full names but Frankie is ok too.

Jj2431 · 10/07/2018 12:05

Yes for a boy I would use Frank/Frankie and Frankie for a girl as nickname

OP posts:
starkid · 10/07/2018 12:19

Hi, I prefer Francesca for a girl and don't like Francis for a boy sorry. Frank is better.

DiegoMadonna · 10/07/2018 12:20

I don't have strong feelings on the middle names, but then I don't have strong feelings on middle names anyway! Most people will never know/use them.

I like Francis (LOVE Frank)

and I love Frances (hate Frankie on a girl though)

So yeah... Good names basically, OP!
