Names for my twins?

Due twins in September (first babies) don’t know what we’re having (sex wise, obviously we are having babies)

Favourite names so far are...

Clara Pearl
Rosa Marianne

Eugene Alexander (but will be known as Gene. I have an irrational dislike of abbreviated names on birth certificates)

Earl James
Rudy James (I love Rudy but aware it’s an abbreviation) Don’t think it’s a real contender though as I don’t like Rueben, Rudyard etc. DH says Rudolph, but I think that’s a step too far

Any thoughts/other suggestions welcome.

I like Rudy James & Rosa Pearl best.

I have an irrational dislike of the name Eugene. I imagine an adult called Eugene to be a bit wet and creepy

Earl James is just too James Earl Jones.

Also, Earl is horrendous.

Can't you have Alexander and James as the name and keep the vile ones for middle names? Alex and James are good names

Eugene and Earl are dreadful.

I'm not a fan of same first initial for twins. It is asking for trouble down the line admin wise with same DOB, same surname, same initial. Give them individuality from the start.

Eugene, Earl and Rudy all sound incredibly American to me. Which is fine if you are, but they are weird names in the UK.

Clara Pearl is lovely.

I love Rosa Marianne, also like Rudy but agree with some other posters that different initials are preferable for twins.

I'm not that keen on Eugene, quite like Gene but then it could be confused with Jean.

Other suggestions:
Frederick James (Freddy)
Archer James (this was a name mentioned on another thread recently and I loved it, can be Archie which is cute too)

Earl James or James Earl.
Rosa Marianne or Rosanne Marie.

I'm not keen on Clara Pearl but I like Rosa

James and Earl together put me in mind of James Earl Ray. That might not be somebody your son wants to make people think of.

You know they are non identical though? Is that correct?

Clara and Gene is a great combo.

But I LOVE Rudy! 😍 Even as a short version of Rudyard. I might steal it...

James Earl Jones was Darth Vader’s voice, and Mufasa in the Lion King. I think he’s a bit of a legend.

Also - put them on a piece of A4 paper on your living room wall and live with them for a bit (we have twins and narrowed down three choices to two in the way to register office )

Your proposed boys' first names are dreadful - sorry. I like the middle names, though.
