There are a lot of graces around.

Autumn is different, unusual. Would it get shortened?

I love Dorothy!

ZenNudist · 03/07/2018 00:30

Both good names. Neither go with Dorothy

Dorothy Grace works
Dorothea Grace (hmmmm)
Autumn Grace

Grace feels like a good middle name.

Autumn Rose (too twee?)

To carry off dorothy as a middle name needs a stronger first name. I cant think of anything it goes with.

My beloved dgm was Dorothy. I couldn't see my way to using it as middle name

How about

Iris Dorothy
Lena Dorothy
Leia Dorothy
Camilla Dorothy
Hazel Dorothy (nature name)
Charlotte Dorothy (this one i do think is a strong first name)
Eleanor Dorothy (also strong)

JoannaLouise1201 · 03/07/2018 00:38

I'm not sure if Autumn would get shortened.

Does Dorothy really not go with either? Sad

I prefer Grace Dorothy.

Dorothy is a fabulous middle name, but it would be an even better first name.

Dorothy Grace would be wonderful.

InterstellarSleepingElla · 03/07/2018 00:45

I like Autumn Dorothy

JoannaLouise1201 · 03/07/2018 00:59

I thought it might be a bit out there for a first name?

It's unusual for a first name, but not too out there. And there's lots of nickname potential too. It's a lovely name Smile

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 03/07/2018 02:21

I agree Dorothy Grace is fab
Grace Dorothy doesn't even flow. It sounds very forced to say.
Grace is like May and Rose much nicer as middle names

IlikemyTeahot · 03/07/2018 02:25

I've thought out various combos but I think Autumn Dorothy Grace has a nice flow to it

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 03/07/2018 02:33

No one uses middle names though, do they? I only ever say my DC middle names out loud once in a blue moon.

That said, Dorothy Grace is really nice. I know three Autumns! It's not really a name that really appeals to me though.

moredoll · 03/07/2018 02:44

Grace Dorothy

Peachbubble · 03/07/2018 06:20

Autumn, and Dorothy is fine as her middle name

sexnotgender · 03/07/2018 08:13

Dorothy is a great first name! Could be little dot as a baby?

Emma198 · 03/07/2018 08:16

I think Dorothy as a first name too

Icklepickle101 · 03/07/2018 08:16

Dorothy grace is lovely. I wanted it for DC2 but DH veteoed it because of (bad) family connections Sad

spudlet7 · 03/07/2018 08:26

Dorothy = Dotty! Adorable first name.

JedediahBila · 03/07/2018 08:36

Dorothy Grace is lovely.

I don't really like Autumn - it's a little "out there", and if she's being born in this summer heatwave it's just strange.

TatianaLarina · 03/07/2018 10:45

Can’t stand Dorothy. Least stylish, elegant, sophisticated name imaginable. Deeply unsexy.

Don’t like Autumn or Grace much but they’re both miles better.

Brendatheblender · 03/07/2018 10:49

I love Autumn. I know one and she is beautiful, thoughtful and funny.

Not sure that it goes with Dorothy though, Autumn Grace sounds lovely though.

MikeUniformMike · 03/07/2018 11:00

Grace as a middle name? No. It's become a filler middle name.
Dorothy is great but I'm not keen on Dorothea.
Autumn - not for a summer baby.

Emma198 · 03/07/2018 11:20

Deeply unsexy

Oh yeah, because that's everyone's main consideration when naming their children Hmm

Autumn I think is lovely but I always use diminutives or nicknames and find Autumn a bit awkward. I like Grace nn Gracie but it’s a bit unimaginative although perfectly pretty.
You very rarely use first and middle names in general conversation so just go for whichever you prefer and don’t worry too much about flow! I like Dorothy and Dotty is cute for a baby!

MikeUniformMike · 03/07/2018 11:57

Children grow up and usually are adults longer than they are children.

Cbeebiesrehab · 03/07/2018 12:00

Totally agree Mike and Grace,Autumn and Dorothy all suit an adult well.

kaytee87 · 03/07/2018 12:07

I like Dorothy grace too.
