Hi,

Our little boy is almost 2 weeks old. I think we've finally decided on Hayden Elliot, but we are just after some last minute opinions, etc.

Many thanks!

I like it!

JessambardKingdomBrunel · 30/06/2018 08:47

Hayden is very chavvy, Eliot is alright though.

Thornberry · 30/06/2018 08:48

Chavvy? Hmm wtf

It's up there with Jaden/Jayden - a teacher is not often happy to see they have one of them in their class. They're naughty boy names.

Icklepup · 30/06/2018 08:52

I don't like Hayden but Elliot is nice.

calzone · 30/06/2018 08:52

Don’t like Hayden.

Love Elliott.

mintich · 30/06/2018 08:54

Don't like Hayden but love Elliott

peachypetite · 30/06/2018 08:54

Sorry but Hayden does have certain connotations.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 30/06/2018 08:55

Every Hayden/Haydon I know is really naughty!

Elliott is nice.

LilMadAgain · 30/06/2018 08:57

Hayden is a beautiful name.i know two adult Haydens/Haydns and they're both really nice people. I'm not sure what the above 'chav' poster is smoking but they're wrong.

OlumOrange · 30/06/2018 09:00

I think it's really nice OP

OlumOrange · 30/06/2018 09:00

Oh and congratulations Thanks

SailingDay · 30/06/2018 09:05

Ah. I really wouldn't go with Hayden. My best friend is a teacher and it's one of the names that makes her dread getting a certain child in her class.

Along with Conor, Mason, Jaden, Tyler...

MorbidMuch · 30/06/2018 09:06

All the teenage Haydens I've taught have been lovely, polite, hard-working boys, so I've got a fondness for the name.

I think Hayden Elliot is a perfectly nice name.

SailingDay · 30/06/2018 09:06

It also just sounds made up, which it is really.

And I also can't really imagine a barrister or accountant called Hayden. An electrician, maybe.

It's not a name that could carry someone into any walk of life from cashier to Prime Minister.

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 30/06/2018 09:07

Congratulations OP Flowers

I think Elliot is lovely.

I'm not keen on Hayden to be honest. But I am biased because I work with children and all the boys with that name I've come across have happened to be quite challenging.

MorbidMuch · 30/06/2018 09:09

Sailing, a quick Google will show you that there are indeed UK professionals with the name Hayden.

Passmethecrisps · 30/06/2018 09:12

OP, do you love the name?

Names are not ‘chavvy’. Some of the comments here are extremely rude and frankly show a total lack of any manners. If you look into names of judges, doctors or any other line of employment which has been decided to be ‘better’ than others you will find all manner of names.

The way you raise your child, luck, their intellect and their character will define their role in life - not their name.

OlumOrange · 30/06/2018 09:27

Think people are wrong for assuming how a child will behave based on a name I know a few Masons, Tyler's Jayden's etc who are polite little boys yet I know boys called Jack, Simon etc who are the opposite

If you like a name OP then name your little boy it Thanks

violet0805 · 30/06/2018 09:28

Really like Elliott... don't like Hayden though - sorry

KnockMeDown · 30/06/2018 09:34

I think it sounds great. And I agree with a PP who said that a name doesn't make a child naughty or not.

The only advice I would give you, OP, is that once you have decided on a name you both love, you don't need to get any sort of validation from internet randoms.

Hope you haven't been put off.

It's ridiculous to say all Haydens/Braydens/Jaydens etc are naughty!
It's like saying all boys are naughty and all girls are nice or all boys like blue and all girls like pink .....
I don't personally like these types of names but that's just me and I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't like my children's names. 🤷🏻‍♀️
OP, having said that, I quite like Hayden. If you love it then go for it and stick two fingers up to anyone that doesn't like it!

MarmiteTermite · 30/06/2018 09:45

No opinion in Hayden but Elliott needs a double l and double t!

BananaHarvest · 30/06/2018 09:46

I prefer more traditional names that are classless.

tinykirst · 30/06/2018 09:47

My sons middle name is Hayden and I never would've thought of it as being a 'chavvy' name. You can't say 'all boys with Hayden are naughty'. A name doesn't make someone 'naughty' or 'chavvy' , how ridiculous.

If you like the name then go for it
