Welcome @MeyYael! Sorry but @FintyTin has it again - Christabel.

Messiah is Christ
Once is a
Chimes is bell (bel)
Christ+a+bel
The incomplete poem is Coleridge's Christabel and final clue is of course Ms Pankhurst.

Back to you @FintyTin!

MeyYael · 13/06/2018 18:51

Ah, interesting. :) I arrived at Pauline that way:

The Messiah chimes once: lead singer of the Chimes, Pauline. Plus: Saulus to Paulus => the chime of Christ

Incomplete poem: a fragment of a confession (=Pauline)

political activist: Pauline Hanson

Oh well. This game is an absolutely brilliant idea, btw. :)

finallychangedmyusername · 13/06/2018 18:54

Wow, I can't believe Pauline fits my clues too! Shock - that's quite amazing!

MeyYael · 13/06/2018 19:05

:)

It did seem to fit pretty well (imo). But there are just so many names. Makes sense that more than one could fit the clues occasionally...

finallychangedmyusername · 13/06/2018 19:52

I suppose so!

FintyTin · 13/06/2018 23:22

Great clue, @finallychangedmyusername!

I think the more-than-one-name-fits scenario is getting more likely as time goes on and clues get more cryptic, @MeyYael. A number of times I thought I’d nailed it only to get the dreaded “Not (my guess), no.” I feel your pain. Grin

The chap I’m thinking of could be one of the best things for your health. If you constrict him you’ll get close.

throwcushions · 14/06/2018 07:32

Dennis?

diddl · 14/06/2018 16:52

Glenrick?

FintyTin · 14/06/2018 19:36

Sorry, not Dennis or Glenrick.

MeyYael · 14/06/2018 19:59

Asa?

MeyYael · 15/06/2018 09:04

Or maybe Otto? Wink

You guys are much too clever for me.

FintyTin · 15/06/2018 09:27

No, sorry, not Asa or Otto.

There are two clues in the first sentence: “...be one...for your health.” is one which should work wherever you are; “...one of the best things for your health.” is another, and probably works better if you are in the UK.

Hope that makes sense Smile!

finallychangedmyusername · 15/06/2018 23:01

Adrian?

FintyTin · 16/06/2018 08:51

Not Adrian, but you've got the right initial...

finallychangedmyusername · 16/06/2018 09:34

Aidan?

finallychangedmyusername · 16/06/2018 09:37

Or Alastair (constricted as Ally - or Close), best for your health - a last air?

FintyTin · 16/06/2018 20:30

Not Aidan or Alastair, sorry. It is a Celtic name, though.

MeyYael · 16/06/2018 20:34

Angus?

throwcushions · 16/06/2018 21:41

Austin?!

finallychangedmyusername · 16/06/2018 21:54

Ailill?

finallychangedmyusername · 16/06/2018 21:55

Or Adair?

FintyTin · 16/06/2018 22:21

None of those, sorry.

The best-known owner of the name went from honour to Right Honourable.

MeyYael · 16/06/2018 22:38

Arthur?

throwcushions · 16/06/2018 23:15

Ahhh! Attlee?

Bexter801 · 17/06/2018 01:31

Alan?
