FintyTin · 07/06/2018 23:07

Another owner of the name is known for being lovely.

finallychangedmyusername · 08/06/2018 09:57

Joan?

finallychangedmyusername · 08/06/2018 11:25

Ah, could it be Deborah? (Book of Judges = fairness, Dragon's Den Deborah Meaden = fiery, busy as a bee)

FintyTin · 08/06/2018 21:07

It could indeed, @finallychangedmyusername - you nailed it the clues.

I was going for a double meaning on the ‘fairness’ - Deborah Harry (Blondie) as well as the Biblical reference. My last clue alluded to ‘the lovely Debbie McGee’.

Well done, and over to you Grin.

finallychangedmyusername · 08/06/2018 21:19

Yay, thank you @FintyTin! I got the busy bee clue quite early (hence my guess of Beatrice) but struggled to take that any further until inspiration finally hit me. Good clues!

(Is anyone else singing "Your name was Deborah, Deb-o-rah. It never suited ya.."?! Showing my age possibly!)

Anyway, next name:

She can have her centre drawn out, yet is completely happy. To her friends she's a cool beverage, over in a quick swish and invoiced.

Scotstar · 08/06/2018 21:36

A 3rd thread! I thought it had died a death! You are all far too clever for me lol

FintyTin · 08/06/2018 22:07

@finallychangedmyusername - I have been singing it all day Grin.

@Scotstar - thank you for starting it all off!

Bexter801 · 09/06/2018 13:07

Gemima?

finallychangedmyusername · 09/06/2018 13:21

Not Gemima sorry

Bexter801 · 09/06/2018 13:42

Giniveve?

finallychangedmyusername · 09/06/2018 14:48

Nope sorry

Bexter801 · 09/06/2018 15:53

Regina? (I'm getting desperate! Not got one right in ages)

finallychangedmyusername · 09/06/2018 16:32

Sorry @Bexter801, it's not Regina.

throwcushions · 09/06/2018 19:51

Felicity?

throwcushions · 09/06/2018 19:55

I think it fits everything (centre drawn out - elicit, completely happy is name meaning, cool beverage is the nickname Fizz and swish is the nickname Flick? Just can't figure out invoiced! Fee??)

Thank you Scotstar for the brilliant thread! But also curse you because I am so addicted I can't stop checking it!!

Bexter801 · 09/06/2018 22:30

Oh well done @throwcushions you must be right 🙂

finallychangedmyusername · 10/06/2018 00:40

Well done @throwcushions! You got the reasoning too:

"Drawing out her centre" is to elicit something. And you can actually elicit the word "elicit" from Felicity. F-elicit-y.

"...yet is completely happy" = as a complete name, Felicity, the name means happiness.

And yes the second sentence refers to possible nicknames for Felicity ("...to her friends"). "Cool beverage" is fizz/Fizz or fizzy/Fizzy, "over in a swish" is a flick/Flick and "invoiced" is indeed a fee/Fee/Fe.

Over to you!

throwcushions · 10/06/2018 15:21

That was a great one!

Here's mine:

She is a dark saint, at once fruity and spicy!

FintyTin · 10/06/2018 17:09

Victoria?

FintyTin · 10/06/2018 17:16

Or Melanie?

finallychangedmyusername · 10/06/2018 18:24

I think @FintyTin is probably correct with Victoria but just in case.... Juniper?

throwcushions · 10/06/2018 20:21

Not Juniper!

FintyTin is indeed correct (very quick!) but with Melanie.

Dark is the meaning of the name. There are two saints named Melanie.

Fruity is melon-y (groan!)

Spicy is the two Spice Girls named Melanie.

You're up FintyTin!

FintyTin · 10/06/2018 20:49

Yay! That was a fun one @throwcushions (especially the fruity clue), thank you! Smile
I guessed that the saint clue was All Saints (Melanie Blatt), but I think I was just in the girl groups groove by then. Grin

Give me a few minutes to think...

finallychangedmyusername · 11/06/2018 12:13

Well done @FintyTin - you're so good at this game?

FintyTin · 11/06/2018 12:32

Oops, sorry, I got distracted by Poldark! Thank you @finallychangedmyusername - how did you guess? More addict than expert, though. Grin

Hopefully this one isn’t ridiculously easy:

This Welsh chap can be a bit unkind when he goes by the book. He might be in trouble with the bank, or he could be defending the planet in secret.
