Yep you got it! That was quick! Max.

The physicist Max Planck was the Nobel prize winner, the crazy films are the Mad Max series, the martyr is Saint Maximilian (who was probably Max to his mates!) And 'ultimate' is, of course, max(imum). Over to you @DuggeeHugs!

DuggeeHugs · 08/01/2019 20:17

Great clues again @finallychangedmyusername Smile

Whether her epic adventures are steam-powered or fast enough to launch a rocket, she will always be able to offer an eloquent narrative.

Nicole?

finallychangedmyusername · 09/01/2019 20:27

Emily?

DuggeeHugs · 10/01/2019 09:11

Neither I'm afraid

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 10/01/2019 20:24

Edith?

DuggeeHugs · 10/01/2019 20:34

Not Edith either. This name is more Mediterranean.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 12/01/2019 18:43

Ooh, Sabrina?

finallychangedmyusername · 14/01/2019 19:49

@DuggeeHugs, are you there?

DuggeeHugs · 14/01/2019 21:03

Sorry @finallychangedmyusername I'm all over the shop atm Confused

Not Sabrina. It's a very old name. Ancient, even.

I'm struggling .... Claudia?

LadyGAgain · 16/01/2019 21:53

I honestly am stumped!!

DuggeeHugs · 17/01/2019 18:05

Oh I'm sorry - I have a colleague with this name but it probably isn't very common.

How about:
They'll phone I wish

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 17/01/2019 19:07

Calliope?

DuggeeHugs · 17/01/2019 20:40

Yes, it is Calliope! The muse of eloquence and epic poetry whose name was given to a steam powered musical instrument and a tank used for launching rockets. Broken down to: Call I 'ope!

All yours @finallychangedmyusername and apologies for the obscurity Sad

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 17/01/2019 22:25

Can't believe it took me so long! Particularly since Calliope is one of my love-it-but-don't-know-if-I'd-be-brave-enough-to-bestow names! Great clues @DuggeeHugs.Smile

Next one:
This gentleman is linked by a composer and rock'n'roller. But is this man an island? Or does he feel (in part) floaty light? Only he can tell you, out loud.

LadyGAgain · 17/01/2019 22:42

Wow well done @finallychangedmyusername . I would NEVER have got that (so stupid). @DuggeeHugs you continue to rule!

Right... time to read new clues!

LadyGAgain · 17/01/2019 22:44

Ed?

finallychangedmyusername · 17/01/2019 22:46

Haha, if I'm honest, my love of Calliope comes, in part, from Thomas the Tank Engine (there's a whole episode about a calliope). Ah the joys of toddlers! Grin

finallychangedmyusername · 17/01/2019 22:47

Not Ed sorry

DuggeeHugs · 18/01/2019 06:43

Paul?

@finallychangedmyusername on paper it sounds too much as a name, but my colleague Calliope is really lovely and the name suits her brilliantly. Although she does say that everyone comments on how cool/great/unusual the name is!

DS is a recent Thomas convert so I await the Calliope episode with interest Smile

Thanks @LadyGAgain

Cake for all because January seems to be lasting about 20 years

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 18/01/2019 19:06

Yum, cake! I needed that, thanks @DuggeeHugs! (Currently watching Thomas. AGAIN. Grin)

Sorry, it's not Paul.

It's not necessarily the rock n roller' s first name...

DuggeeHugs · 19/01/2019 06:55

Stewart?

On the Thomas front, have you watched Day of the Diesels? DS is slightly obsessed with it. Prime is a double edged sword

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 19/01/2019 09:03

Yep, we've worked our way through all of the Thomas Prime movies at least a couple of times Blush- the freebies certainly! DS1 is obsessed and DS2, at a year old, is also following in his big brother's shoes. It could be worse...(Paw Patrol, I'm looking at you)... Grin

It's not Stewart. The final sentence tells you you'll know how to pronounce the name when it's spoken, "Toe-MAY-toe, toe-MARR-toe" sort of thing...
