Spot on! The final clue was supposed to be Jackson (Jack being a nickname for John) but yep, Johnson works too.

Over to you @thepoorestoftherichteabiscuits! Grin

Thanks @DuggeeHugs, he's currently chattering and gurgling away so I'm hoping I'm in for a better night tonight! Grin

thepoorestoftherichteabiscuits · 16/11/2018 21:41

Thanks finally Grin

Okay, here's a riddle for you:

There are types of spiders and types of trees,
There are types of moon, one of which is me,
My first fancies Elizabeth if not too shallow,
My second is found in bats as well as in sparrows.

finallychangedmyusername · 16/11/2018 21:52

Mark?

DuggeeHugs · 18/11/2018 14:24

Ganymede?

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 18/11/2018 14:47

Wolf?

thepoorestoftherichteabiscuits · 18/11/2018 14:51

Nope. It's a woman's name if that helps.

finallychangedmyusername · 18/11/2018 16:07

Ariadne?

LadyGAgain · 19/11/2018 23:23

Eve

finallychangedmyusername · 20/11/2018 21:37

Or Daphne?

thepoorestoftherichteabiscuits · 21/11/2018 19:43

Nope.

Next clue: A timid merchant will almost get you utopia.

finallychangedmyusername · 21/11/2018 20:15

Luna?

thepoorestoftherichteabiscuits · 21/11/2018 20:39

Not Luna, although know why. When I did the clues I was expecting someone to suggest that.

DuggeeHugs · 22/11/2018 21:03

Sophia?

OP posts:
thepoorestoftherichteabiscuits · 22/11/2018 22:18

Nope but getting closer.

finallychangedmyusername · 23/11/2018 19:30

Portia?

finallychangedmyusername · 23/11/2018 20:00

I'm feeling pretty optimistic.... the timid merchant is Shylock in Merchant of Venice, Portia is a type of jumping spider (gah!), Portia moon of Uranus, Portia in Merchant of Venice being based on Queen Elizabeth, almost utopia - Portia is almost an anagram of utopia. Not sure about the bats and sparrows though!

thepoorestoftherichteabiscuits · 23/11/2018 21:33

Yep well done finally Smile

Pretty bang on with most of the clues too.

Portia is a name for a spider, tree and moon of Uranus
The first part refers to Port(s) which fancies (HMS) Elizabeth if not too shallow (re the sea). The second is the "ah" sound found in the words bats and sparrows.

And yep shy and merchant are clues to Merchant of Venice and utopia is almost an anagram Smile

finallychangedmyusername · 23/11/2018 21:41

Yay, I enjoyed that one @thepoorestoftherichteabiscuits! Smile

Next name (and no, it's not Susie!):

Susie coolly described the adventures of these two letters. (And what they did afterwards too).

(It may have been getting physical with Susie - an enjoyable experience!)

DuggeeHugs · 24/11/2018 07:07

Katy?

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 24/11/2018 08:09

That was quick @DuggeeHugs! Grin

Susie coolly... references Susan Coolidge, the author of What Katy Did (the adventures of these two letters) and What Katy Did Next (and what they did afterwards too). The two letters being, of course, K and T.

The final sentence is the pop reference - Katy Perry joyfully sang "I kissed a girl....and I liked it".

DuggeeHugs · 25/11/2018 17:10

Yay! Thanks @finallychangedmyusername good clue!

New effort:

Although more blonde than his Mediterranean roots suggest, in the new world he is besties with a brunette
