Help needed - our little boy needs a name...

Hi all,

We're due to have our third beautiful son this September, but are completely stuck on his name. Our other sons are called Teddy and Sonny. We fell in love with both names the minute we heard them, and receive nothing but compliments about their names. I've always loved Casper, husband wasn't so keen (due to Casper the ghost) but is warming to it. Both our boys adore that name too. The other contender is Barney (Barnaby), another name I've also always liked.
Really, really struggling. Our youngest loves Casper, and isn't keen on Barney. However, our eldest and my husband prefer Barney.

If you like the names Casper and Barney, please could I ask your opinion on which would suit our family better.
Teddy, Sonny and Casper. Or, Teddy, Sonny and Barney.

If you don't like either, please don't comment.

However my first thought on a name to go with Teddy and Sonny was Sid.

I know two brothers called Teddy and Casper. Lovely together!

Thank you commenting. Haha, although interesting the Teddy Bear was named after Theodore Roosevelt . I do like Cass.

I prefer Casper and love the nn Cass. What about Cassius or Cassidy? Something a bit different if husband isn't keen on Casper, but still has similar feel.

We are almost certain that we’re naming our little boy Caspian - nickname Casper.

I also love Rafael, Gabriel, Elias, Evan and Castiel.

I really like Barney with your other names.

Your children don't get a vote. You and your husband get to pick. Fwiw, I like Barney and it seems like it goes with your existing choices.

Casper rather than Barney.

Loving Cassidy though. And Raphael is probably my favourite boy's name.

Barney goes better with the older brothers' names. Casper doesn't really work.

I like Barney. DC3 goes to school with a Barnaby (Barney at school).

Other suggestions:
Rafferty or Rafael (I know a Rafael who is called 'Raffa')
Vincent (Vinnie)

I think Barney goes better with your other son's names as they all have the ee sound at the end

Barney goes best as part of the sib-set, as like the other two it's a more informal name.

Don’t let your children choose! They get their chance if and when they have kids! I like Barney and Raphael and Rafferty.
