Wanted to hear your thoughts, are they classic or a bit old fashioned now? Which do you prefer? Thank you x

Awfully staid.

Prefer Carolina and Francesca.

kimlo · 19/05/2018 13:24

love them.

I like Frances more.

DramaAlpaca · 19/05/2018 13:24

Nice choices, both beautiful classic elegant names.

Call her Caroline Frances, perfect. Or Frances Caroline Smile

I've always wanted to be called Caroline

BB2018 · 19/05/2018 14:01

Classic and classy.

I prefer Frances, but like both.

bridgetreilly · 19/05/2018 14:11

I like both. Maybe Caroline slightly more, but they're both good choices.

KirstenRaymonde · 19/05/2018 14:11

Prefer Caroline, very unusual now but classic.

evilharpy · 19/05/2018 14:19

I love both. Very underused lovely classic names. I'm related to both a Caroline and a Frances and they are both very glamorous.

Frances would be my first choice.

Alonglongway · 19/05/2018 14:20

one of mine is Caroline. She's 17 and it has been a trouble-free name so far! She's been the only one in every class - though at one stage there was a Caroline in every year group in her secondary school. Clearly more about than you might think.

FairfaxAikman · 19/05/2018 14:29

Frances

If she grows up to be feminine it's a lovely elegant name, if she's a tomboy Frankie is a pretty funky nickname.

Both are uncommon and utter classics that will never fully go out of style.

Perfectway · 19/05/2018 14:30

Like Caroline. Never liked Frances and they are always called Fran.

SuperUnicorn · 19/05/2018 14:32

I love Caroline. Classic rather than old fashioned to me.

starsandstuff · 19/05/2018 14:33

Caroline is very pretty.

Frances just makes me think of my Auntie Fra...

bookmum08 · 19/05/2018 14:41

One of those names is mine!!! The one beginning with F. I didn't like it as a child because it seemed a bit old fashioned but I like it now. I like that not many people are called it. Called myself Fran as a teen but go by the proper name these days. One really annoying thing is the always having to say "no it's cEs - I for a boy E for a girl".

Flatwhite32 · 19/05/2018 14:43

I'm Frances! Didn't like my name when I was younger, but I like it now. Hardly anyone has the same name as me, which is nice!

I like both names. My favourite is Caroline (which was my grandmother’s name).

I like Frances too (but I’d be worried that it would end up being confused with Francis and that she’d have to constantly correct people).

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 19/05/2018 14:58

Both lovely, but Frances Caroline is my favourite. I love Fran.

AnyaMoondial · 19/05/2018 15:01

Caroline is s really beautiful, elegant name. Somehow cheerful too I think.

RavenWings · 19/05/2018 15:11

Both a bit blah tbh. Caroline is nicer though.

MrsHathaway · 19/05/2018 16:24

I vastly prefer Caroline. The Carolines I know use their names; the Franceses all used sonething else as soon as possible.

Francesca is better than Frances.

Caroline Frances is a great name.

Fifthtimelucky · 19/05/2018 16:33

Definitely Caroline. Don't like Frances at all, though do like Francesca.

Sophronia · 19/05/2018 16:53

Caroline is lovely!

RNBrie · 19/05/2018 16:58

These are my first and second names Grin I love them both. Great choice OP!

SpectacularAardvark · 19/05/2018 17:03

Frances is lovely but Fran, Franny and Frankie are awful. I'd pick Caroline, I considered it myself if we'd had a DD, Carrie and Caro are sweet.

DrScully · 19/05/2018 17:17

I love both, and have considered both for my current baby due in a few months!
I’m going for Martha though Wink
