I’ve met a Pooky and a Binny. Both v upper class. Nice, but posh enough for the names to not sounds ridiculous when they introduced themselves although I do remember opening my eyes proper wide at binny because she marched over and thrust out her hand for a shake and barked “Hi I’m Binny Lastname” which is beyond formal for the circles I usually mix in

I have had work colleagues over the years called Henners, Tuffers, Topsy (x2), Bunny (short for Cordelia), Bobbo, Pinky and the CLB. Surprisingly, I don’t work in a private gallery in Mayfair, or as a cricket commentator.

I knew a cat called Mags once - I always thought it was short for Margaret, but apparently it’s because as a kitten she’d only sleep in the cardboard box her humans put the recycling in, which said “Newspapers & Mags” on the side in marker.
