Do you like the name Quinn for a girl?

Quinn Anne

As in Queen Anne, or quinine? Confused

LoveInTokyo · 02/05/2018 20:29

Quinn is a bit leftfield, but why not? I don’t dislike it.

Some people might think it’s “Queen” though.

Quinn Anne doesn’t work at all. The sounds are too similar.

Smeddum · 02/05/2018 20:30

I like Quinn and I like Anne but I think together they could be problematic.

wineandcheeseplease · 02/05/2018 20:31

Quinn yes. Quinn Anne no. It doesn't sound right.

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/05/2018 20:31

I like Quinn, but not with Anne.

tryingtocatchthewind · 02/05/2018 20:32

Totally agree with everyone else, both names are lovely but sound awful together I’m afraid

VanGoghsLeftEar · 02/05/2018 20:33

I saw your title and thought of Peter Quinn/Staelord from Guardians of the Galaxy. (My daughter is an MCU fan)

LoveInTokyo · 02/05/2018 20:34

It made me think of Quinn Fabray from Glee.

mayhew · 02/05/2018 20:35

I know a Quinn, little girl. Q is a cool initial. But Anne doesn't work, too similar.

Ontopofthesunset · 02/05/2018 20:36

No. For me it's The Mighty Quinn, Quinnsworth, quins (as in quintuplets) and it's very close to quim. I can't see anything to recommend it, certainly not for a girl. Definitely not Quinn Anne which, as someone else has said, sounds like either Queen Anne or quinine gone slightly wrong.

JustSeeingHowManyCharactersWeC · 02/05/2018 20:39

When I wanted to use it the overriding opinion was that it sounded like Quim.

Quinn Anne sounds like Quinine, are you a G&T drinker?!

Outbackshack · 02/05/2018 20:40

I like it as a middle name. I see it as a male name though

Rudgie47 · 02/05/2018 20:41

Dr Quinn Medicine Woman.

BubblesBuddy · 02/05/2018 20:42

Annie Quinn maybe? I originally thought it was for a boy though.

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 02/05/2018 20:43

I love it. In the unlikely possibility we conceive (secondary infertility with no chance of ivf) I’d call a girl either Quinn or Aubrey x

upsideup · 02/05/2018 20:45

I love Quinn, my DD(11) is Queenie and it has always been the other name option we have given her if she ever wants to have a more 'normal' name, she loves having a name beginning with Q as no one else ever does.
Quinn Anne will sound like Queen Anne but you probably wont end up using both names very often.

TheBookThief · 02/05/2018 20:46

Hmmmm too close to quim Blush for my liking, sorry!

industguishable · 02/05/2018 20:47

I would assume a Quinn was male (Starlord here too ;-) but I can see it has the potential to be unisex. Strong, pronounceable, yup, not bad!

Quinn Anne is clearly a bad idea though, and I suspect any 'normal' girls name will sound too like a misprononciation of 'Queen XXXX'

MollyHuaCha · 02/05/2018 20:48

Sorry, not keen.

DOOOSH444 · 02/05/2018 20:50

Keep the opinions coming.
I don’t mind how honest the answers are.

I like Quinn a lot. Anne doesn't seem to flow with it. What about Anna

LostPlatypus · 02/05/2018 20:51

I knew a Quinn at school (full name Quintilla) so I definitely see it as a girl's name, albeit a slightly unusual one. It definitely doesn't work with Anne though - too many n's.

Whatalovelymug · 02/05/2018 20:51

I think quim too.

Gizmo79 · 02/05/2018 20:52

I love the first name, but completely floored by it being for a girl - sorry!

GrannyHaddock · 02/05/2018 20:53

Honestly, there are problems with that name; best avoided. Handwritten it would look like "quim" too.
