For a boy.... I think the sound of the name but understand it could be considered a bit erm, opposite of posh thanks to Katie Price... Not that we're looking for a posh name.

I think it's a cool name, Katie price didn't occur to me when I read the name!

Luckingfovely · 24/04/2018 14:37

Sadly I think that it will bring up negative connotations for a lot of people, so you will likely get a very mixed bag of responses.

It's not nearly as bad as some other names you hear though, I think it could be quite cool. Unless the name is really ghastly, most kids will grow into it and make the name their own.

Annabelle4 · 24/04/2018 14:40

I know 2 Jordans, although one is spelt 'Geordan'

It's OK, I don't really like or dislike it.

I wouldn't even think of Katie Price tbh, her Jordan days must be 15 years ago now?

FairyFantastic · 24/04/2018 15:03

In my generation there are a LOT of Jordan's I have known (well over 20). Sadly, to me, bar from two the rest definitely have negative connotations.

Having said that, this is your child, a different generation and a fresh face to the name! If you like the name, go for it. Change peoples associations :)

stellinaa · 24/04/2018 15:06

I love the name Jordan on a boy. I think its a nice mix of cool/modern, as well as being suitable for a child and adult. Katie Price is pretty irrelevant now, so don't let such connotations impact your choice.

greenyblue · 24/04/2018 15:10

I don't like the name but don't think it's at all unusual for a boy.

GinIsIn · 24/04/2018 16:17

Umm.... not to my taste!

I think of it as a river or a surname.

StarlaMack · 24/04/2018 17:42

Can anyone think of similar names (not Jayden)? I rather liked Jasper but decided it felt a bit like a pets name and couldn't shake the feeling.

I associate Jordan with the name of a naughty school boy or girl. I know that is terrible but I have met a few.

HeartCurrent · 24/04/2018 17:49

Jordan for a boy Is lovely,
Jordan for a girl would make me think of Katie price.

Fridasfridgefreezer · 24/04/2018 17:51

I wouldn’t say Jasper is anything like Jordan...

Jonas?

StarlaMack · 24/04/2018 17:52

It's a nice sounding name imo, it's just a shame about the connotations. Perhaps I'll try and break the mound Grin

StarlaMack · 24/04/2018 17:53

StarlaMack · 24/04/2018 19:14

Gabriel goes lovely with Elijah. Jordon not so much.

StarlaMack · 24/04/2018 21:04

I really like Nathaniel but know of two Nathan's, both 'Nafe' and in their 30's....

OP posts:
RidingWindhorses · 24/04/2018 22:13

Jacob/Jake goes really well with Elijah.

Sophronia · 24/04/2018 23:12

I like Jordan for a boy

Joeybee · 24/04/2018 23:23

Jordan is okay. I didn't think of Katie Price, I think because it used to be a pretty common boys name. Jordan is a little dated, that's what would put me off it.
