Considering calling DS Julian. What are your thoughts?

I like it. I know one who’s 5 years old, but it’s not very popular but still known.

GaraMedouar · 15/04/2018 12:06

He will be a Jools I’m sure, with his friends.

RoundaboutSnail · 15/04/2018 12:07

I like it. It's an underused classic.

stellinaa · 15/04/2018 12:52

Love it! One of my favourites. Also like Julius.

MikeUniformMike · 15/04/2018 13:33

I think it's awful. I know 3 and only one is called Jools.

mercurymaze · 15/04/2018 14:00

i like it too, though i do like julian cope Grin

DramaAlpaca · 15/04/2018 14:03

I'm not keen, sorry. The first thing I think of is that bossy twerp in the Famous Five.

Cheesecake53 · 15/04/2018 14:04

I love it, the one I know is called JJ by his friends.

rainbowstardrops · 15/04/2018 14:14

It's ok. I prefer Jude or Julien though but that's just my preference.
I've worked in an infant school for nearly eight years and haven't come across a Julian yet so that automatically gets a thumbs up in my book!

Winterfield · 15/04/2018 14:49

I love it. I think it’s a really handsome name and yes, very underused. Jules is cool too.

pipilangstrumpf · 15/04/2018 16:56

Great name!

BringMeCoffeePlease · 15/04/2018 16:59

I'm not sure it. I quite like it and the shortening 'Jools' is nice.

But it is pretentious. It seems like you're making an effort to choose a typically 'posh' name.

PreemptiveFartSquats · 15/04/2018 17:02

I'm not keen - it sounds wet and posh to me.

MollyHuaCha · 15/04/2018 17:02

ShockI loved that bossy twerp in the Famous Five...

(great name OP, go for it)

dozydaisy23 · 15/04/2018 18:51

Okay: I think we'll go for it. We're not 'posh' by any stretch of the imagination!

What shortening though? Jools or Jules? I like the former.

Mrsknackered · 15/04/2018 18:51

I don’t like. It’s a bit wanky. Sorry

Chickenagain · 15/04/2018 19:22

I love that name & know four Julians. One quite posh, one rough as badgers, one effite and one very masculine - seems to suit all of them!

Fabulouslyrich · 15/04/2018 19:28

I find it a bit wet.

Chocolateyescakeyes · 15/04/2018 19:33

Really not keen, sorry. Agree with it being wet.

DairyisClosed · 15/04/2018 19:36

I love it but I must forewarn you that is has very camp connotations (lots of literary/firm characters are camp Julians, for some reason). It wouldn't stop me but if you are a homiphobe/have a homophobic family member you may want to be forewarned.

pipilangstrumpf · 15/04/2018 20:39

Cool name!

dozydaisy23 · 15/04/2018 20:52

@DairyisClosed no homophobes in our family/ friendship circle. If there were, they'd not be allowed anywhere near him anyway!

I like Jules more than Jools

Lobsterquadrille2 · 15/04/2018 22:02

It's my brother's middle name and way better than his first name, in my view. I prefer Jules to Jools (which to me is Holland plus Jamie's wife).

Madeline18 · 15/04/2018 22:03

Julian is lovely, prefer Jules as nn for a boy with a jul- name.
