Julian?

Considering calling DS Julian. What are your thoughts?

I like it. I know one who’s 5 years old, but it’s not very popular but still known.

He will be a Jools I’m sure, with his friends.

I like it. It's an underused classic.

I think it's awful. I know 3 and only one is called Jools.

I'm not keen, sorry. The first thing I think of is that bossy twerp in the Famous Five.

I love it, the one I know is called JJ by his friends.

It's ok. I prefer Jude or Julien though but that's just my preference.
I've worked in an infant school for nearly eight years and haven't come across a Julian yet so that automatically gets a thumbs up in my book!

But it is pretentious. It seems like you're making an effort to choose a typically 'posh' name.

I love that name & know four Julians. One quite posh, one rough as badgers, one effite and one very masculine - seems to suit all of them!

Really not keen, sorry. Agree with it being wet.

I love it but I must forewarn you that is has very camp connotations (lots of literary/firm characters are camp Julians,for some reason). It wouldn't stop me but if you are a homiphobe/have a homophobic family member you may want to be forewarned.

@DairyisClosed no homophobes in our family/ friendship circle. If there were, they'd not be allowed anywhere near him anyway!

I like Jules more than Jools

It's my brother's middle name and way better than his first name, in my view. I prefer Jules to Jools (which to me is Holland plus Jamie's wife).

Julian is lovely, prefer Jules as nn for a boy with a jul- name.
