My daughter is Sophia - I always loved the name Sophia Loren - the actress when I was young and I loved the greek origin. Bear in mind though that whether you choose Sophia or Sophie her friends will almost always call her Soph!

Sophia

Prefer Sophia - I like the ia ending better

AmysTiara · 12/04/2018 10:31

Sophia.

yadayadayesokay · 12/04/2018 10:40

Sophia sounds prettier to me

ILoveMyMonkey · 12/04/2018 10:42

Sophie, lovely name and never hear it unlike Sophia which every other girl in my school seems to be called.

CreativeMumma · 12/04/2018 10:43

Sophie!

if you go with sophia it can also be spelt sofia.

Soph88 · 12/04/2018 11:45

I'm officially Sophia but everyone calls me Sophie. I prefer Sophie but just because I consider it my name more than Sophia. As another poster has said it will gets shortened to Soph.

ReversingSnail · 12/04/2018 12:10

Sophia

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 12/04/2018 12:13

Sophie by a mile.

PinkAvocado · 12/04/2018 12:14

Sophia is nicer I think. The Sophies I know get it shortened to Soph but the Sophias don’t.

Mum2OneTeen · 12/04/2018 12:22

Sophia

Pemba · 12/04/2018 12:25

Sophie - French, chic, and a bit less common right now. One of my favourite names.

Although I do also think Sophia is lovely, but it's having a moment now, there are so many. Besides that there two pronunciations, soh-fee-a or soh-fye-a, no such ambiguity with Sophie.

Threeandabit · 12/04/2018 12:27

Sophie

BigFatBloomers · 12/04/2018 12:27

Sophia
It’s a stronger sounding name. Sophie always sounds a bit drippy to me.

ElliePhillips · 12/04/2018 13:03

Sophia.

Gorgeous name.

TheDinosaurRoars · 12/04/2018 13:10

Sophia. I think both are popular although I only know two of each.

BringMeCoffeePlease · 12/04/2018 13:41

Sophia is so much nicer but so much more popular now.

HerculesM · 12/04/2018 14:39

Sophie is beautiful. Classic and pretty. I prefer it to Sophia.

Annabelle4 · 12/04/2018 14:43

Sophia, but I'm biased Wink

Sophie is a beautiful name too, so you can't go wrong with either

Trooperslane2 · 12/04/2018 14:46

Sofia

grasspigeons · 12/04/2018 14:47

Sophie

Patienceofatoddler · 12/04/2018 14:48

Personally 'Sofia' rather than 'Sophia' Blush

But that's as for us it's more of a play on Zofia the Polish variant.

NannyR · 12/04/2018 14:56

Definitely Sophie. Sophia is extremely popular where I live at the moment. Sophie is more timeless to me and although it's supposedly popular I don't know of any little Sophies.

Annabelle4 · 12/04/2018 15:31

Neither are popular where I am.

I can only think of one (child) Sophie and one Sophia.

And I have 3 school going DC with huge social circles
