How many Leo’s do you know? (the name not the star sign!)

Am currently pregnant with DC2. Theo was on my list 2 yrs ago when I had DC1 but I’ve been put off it now due to its increasing popularity and coming across quite a few of them at baby and toddler groups.

I like Leo though I looked at a 2017 top 100 baby names list and saw that Leo was no. 8. Even more popular apparently than Theo! I’m a bit surprised at this as I haven’t come across any. Is it popular where you are?

DD has a name that is outside the top 100. I’m not necessarily looking for a purposely unusual name but ideally don’t want a name where DC could potentially be one of 3 in his class.

(I don’t know if I’m having a boy but I think I’m nearly decided on a girl’s name - am just struggling with boys names!)

How about Leon?

I really like it but it's the most common boys' name in my Primary school. So there are a couple of classes where there are 2 in a class

Here are some suggestions:

Alex
Evan
Owen
Saul

I’ve met one Leo aged 35ish (a friend from uni’s xh)
Then there is leonardo decaprio
And Leo of that early 2000s airline programme that used to be on ITV where they followed easyjet staff around Luton airport and other European hubs, and passengers would throw tantrums when they arrived after check in.

To conclude - all the Leo’s in my frame of reference are middle aged - I’d go for it. Not too common here, and I work in a hospital and across 2 different schools so I encounter a LOT of names.
