Washing powder and Sylvia Plath. If you are in the UK you will be subjecting her to horrendous teasing at school.

I don't think she would get teased at school. Kids are more tolerant these days of names, and I think Ariel is very pretty and becoming more popular.
First thing I think is little mermaid

I would think boy's name and a Jewish connection. In itself it is a pretty name.

With an a on the end so it's Ariella maybe? I like Ariel but I would think of the laundry detergent.

I would pronounce it as Ari-uhl. If you are going for the Ari-elle pronunciation you could just spell it as Arielle

I wouldn’t really think of washing powder and I think it’s a pretty name, but not sure I’d want to be called Ariel myself so wonder if she’ll like it as an older girl/adult.
