Evelyn nn Evie in the UK?

Have always wanted Amelia but that seems off the charts. Evelyn has come to me now as a name instead.
Thanks

Also still contemplating Rosemund (Rosie) or Robyn

My niece is Evelin I would say it’s in the top 15 at the moment but pick what you like I have a Sophie and she’s the only one in her class.

Scottishgirl85 · 24/03/2018 07:17

I have a three year old so come across a lot of toddlers at nursery and parties etc. There are A LOT of Rosie and Evie! Very popular! Nice names though. I know one Amelia who is 6.

Who cares if you love it? Still unlikely youll meet/ know more than 2 or 3 others. I like Rosemund.

AuntieStella · 24/03/2018 07:28

There have been an awful lot of girls called Eve/Evie, Evelyn, and the similar Ava. Put them together and it's probably the most frequently used name.

Rosamund (did you have a typo?) is a lovely name. There are a fair few Rosies around (sometimes nn, sometimes stand alone) but I think many fewer than the Eve names.

Robyn is much less common, I've only come across one in RL, though it's quite often discussed here for Christmas babies.

AlecOrAlonzo · 24/03/2018 07:31

Depending on where you live it's very popular. We've recently moved and there were lots of Evies at our old area. It's a very pretty name and lots of people love it.

nivky · 24/03/2018 07:33

Thanks AuntiStella, yes it is a typo error, should be Rosamund. Maybe not great if I misspell from the start :-)

What about Rosalind? Ore Rosemary?

Swishswish26 · 24/03/2018 07:43

There are so many Evie’s and Ava’s in our school- at least two in every year group. Year three has five Ava’s. I like Evelyn but if you will shorten it then there may be quite a few similar names.

deptfordgirl · 24/03/2018 07:43

V v popular. I actually know more Evies than Amelias. Not sure theyre all Evelyns though.

clairehr · 24/03/2018 07:49

I also know of more Evelyns and Evies than Amelias currently! Super popular!

Belindabauer · 24/03/2018 07:52

Very popular at the moment.

User27839494 · 24/03/2018 08:30

Evie is very popular and a lot of them are probably Evelyn on the birth certificate. Evelyn is currently ranked at 27 in the naming charts and Evie is 16th but Amelia is number 2! So Amelia is definitely more popular on the whole...the stats don’t lie!

Fluffypurpleslipper · 24/03/2018 08:32

I hear it around.

Rosabel?

KJE2017 · 24/03/2018 08:33

My DD is called Evie Grin

chezmk1988 · 24/03/2018 11:19

Not sure but it's on my list. I've never met an older or child Evelyn in my area.

MikeUniformMike · 24/03/2018 11:57

Eve, Evie, Eva, Ava, Evelyn...
Also pronunciation issue - Evlyn, Everlyn, Eevlin?

Mammyloveswine · 24/03/2018 12:01

I like Evie but there are lots! I love Esme... if i do have a girl i will use it! (I have two boys!).

Sophronia · 24/03/2018 12:29

I love the name Rosamund

LoveInTokyo · 24/03/2018 13:28

Hugely popular. Amélie and Evie are like this generation’s equivalent of Sarah and Claire.

I like Rosamund - nn Rosa?

Metalhead · 25/03/2018 18:20

Agree with pp, Evie’s are everywhere but I’ve never met an Amelia personally. We’re in the Southeast.

feral · 25/03/2018 18:33

What about Edith nn Edie?

I only know one but loads of Evie!

Tumilnaughts · 25/03/2018 18:34

It's my DD's middle name. I love it!

kaytee87 · 25/03/2018 19:00

Very popular but still lovely

What about Rosalie (Rosa/Rosie)?

Arapaima · 25/03/2018 19:02

Very popular! Eve/Evie/Ava is everywhere at the moment.

Rosie and Robyn are lovely.
