Evelyn nn Evie in the UK?

Have always wanted Amelia but that seems off the charts. Evelyn has come to me now as a name instead.
Thanks

Also still contemplating Rosemund (Rosie) or Robyn

Use it if you love it but for a few years I was beginning to think it was compulsory to name your DD Evie/Evelyn/Ava/Eve around here.

Luckyme2 · 25/03/2018 19:03

There's a few Evies, an Eve and an Evelyn in school with DD

MikeUniformMike · 25/03/2018 19:30

Thinking about it, I don't know any Amelias but I know several Amelies and Emilias. If you love the name use it.

ShowOfHands · 25/03/2018 19:34

Lots and lots of them round here. I was also beginning to think it was a new law that every other child had to be an Evie.

Rockandrollwithit · 25/03/2018 19:37

I like both Rosalie and Rosalind if you wanted a variation on Rosamund.

BoredHorse · 25/03/2018 19:39

There are 3 in my DD's year alone (Y1) and I know of a few others so I think it's quite a popular name at the moment

Buxbaum · 25/03/2018 19:39

I don't think we know any Evelyns but I agree with PP that there are masses of Evas, Evies, Avas etc. My DD's class has two Evas (evva and eeva), an Ava and an Aoife.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 25/03/2018 19:42

I’d forgotten to count the Aoife‘s. Yeah I know a few of them too!

Nounicornshere · 25/03/2018 21:00

We have an Evelyn, Evleen and an Evelin DD’s nursery class of 22 children.

Thanks all, you have confirmed my suspicions and been very helpful
