What do you think? Due a revival? Had its day?

Can't make my mind up.

I love it but I would call a child Jeanie. But it's a family name so I have an emotional connection to it.

Tattybogle89 · 23/03/2018 16:06

Had its day surely

colonelgoldfish · 23/03/2018 16:06

I really like it!

TempusFugitive · 23/03/2018 16:06

Love it. 10 years ago I wouldn't have been ready but now I am.

Rubyslippers7780 · 23/03/2018 16:07

Love it

mimibunz · 23/03/2018 16:08

I love it. I think it's retro-cool, and if you decide to use a nickname then Jeanie is very cute.

LittleMissBrainy · 23/03/2018 16:08

I love it, it was one of my grandma's name so again a family connection for me but I definitely think it's due a revival. If I could have chosen my children's names from scratch I would have had Jean in there somewhere, I love it as a first name and a middle/connector name.

BatFinked · 23/03/2018 16:08

I can see it more as a middle name actually. Make a refreshing change from Rose and May and goes nicely with a lot of modern names

I was going to say that it sounds fresh as a middle name. Far too many Roses around.

AnyaMoondial · 23/03/2018 16:19

I love it. Works well as first or middle. It's funny how it sounds good now when I'm sure it wouldn't have done a decade ago.

astonvanilla · 23/03/2018 16:23

I wouldn't but only because it's my MIL's name so would get confusing!

BluthsFrozenBananas · 23/03/2018 16:26

I really like it and think it’s due a come back, but it might be a hard sell to the baby’s grandparents as they’ll probably associate it with their parents’ generation.

LoveInTokyo · 23/03/2018 17:16

I think it’s one of those names that works beautifully as a middle name with a multi-syllable first name. On its own it’s a bit plain.

Penelope Jean
Alexandra Jean
Katherine Jean
Madeleine Jean
Emily Jean

That sort of thing. Smile

EllenJanethickerknickers · 23/03/2018 17:18

My niece is Chloe Jean. I really like it, it has a Norma Jean, Billie Jean vibe.

Lobsterface · 23/03/2018 17:19

Don’t like it but I guess it could be a pet form of Jeanette

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 23/03/2018 17:20

Love it, but. It sure it’s the right time for a revival.

NameChangeDestroyer · 23/03/2018 17:20

I have noticed it cropping up a fair bit as a middle name on new baby announcements on fb/Instagram.

64BooLane · 23/03/2018 17:21

Ooh, I like it! To my surprise.

Like probably just about everyone, I used to know someone much older called Jean, who was lovely but I never cared for the name in those days.

LoveInTokyo · 23/03/2018 17:22

Chloe Jean is great. It makes me think of the French expression “jolie-laide”. Chloe is such a pretty, girlie name and Jean gives it a bit of an edge.

villainousbroodmare · 23/03/2018 17:22

Love it. Jean, Jeannie, Jeanne... All good.

CountFosco · 23/03/2018 17:26

I love my Jean, if you need convincing. I know a teenage Jean, she's fab.

LoveInTokyo · 23/03/2018 17:28

Lovely poem!

HolyShet · 23/03/2018 17:32

It's fantastic

doodlejump1980 · 23/03/2018 17:33

Apart from Hygiene / Hi Jean it’s lovely!

Thistlebelle · 23/03/2018 17:35

One of the coolest women I’ve ever known was called Jean.

If you aren’t sure though you could go for Sheena which is a variant.
