Like Bethan, Ruth and Rosalind

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 24/02/2018 21:22

Only like Bethan and Madeline.

Remote1candles · 24/02/2018 21:22

I like Madelaine and Rosalind, although I knew someone called Rosalind and she was always shortened to Rozzie, which put me off it a bit.

FuckyDucky · 24/02/2018 21:24

Raffaela. I know a Raphaela who is also shortened to Raphy, so cute.

Doilooklikeatourist · 24/02/2018 21:25

Love Ruth
Rosalind shortened to Roz
And Flora , which doesn’t need shortening

greendale17 · 24/02/2018 21:35

Hate Ruth- belongs in the 90s

I like Flora

Linnet · 24/02/2018 21:43

Bethan, Ruth, Madeline and Elspeth

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 24/02/2018 21:46

Bethan and Elspeth, in that order. Both very soft names with nice shortened forms.

manicinsomniac · 24/02/2018 21:51

Bethan - like it. Much nicer than Beth or Bethany imo
Ruth - it's ok. Very unusual now.
Madeline (mad-uh-line) - really like it but prefer it said 'mad-e-linn'
Raffaela nn Raffie - would you say it 'haff-ay-ella' or 'raff-ee-ella'? I've only known the first (Brazilian name) and am not keen because it reminds me of heifer. The second is okay.
Olive - don't like this at all.
Elspeth nn Essie or Elsie - don't really like Elspeth but like both the nns
Flora nn Florrie - it's ok. Not convinced by Florrie
Rosalind nn Rosie - really like Rosie but prefer Rosanna, Rosalie, Rosaline and Rosemary to Rosalind.

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 24/02/2018 21:52

Flora or Bethan

MaryPoppinsStoleMyHandbag · 24/02/2018 21:59

I like Bethan.

SuperBeagle · 24/02/2018 22:13

I love Madeline.

Like Elsie, but not Elspeth.

SwinginFromTheChandelier · 24/02/2018 22:15

Raffie makes me think of neighbours!

Madeline is commonly pronounced mad-eh-lin here.

Rosalin? Prefer Rosalie or Rosanna...

ButterflyOfFreedom · 24/02/2018 22:16

Bethan & Flora are my favourites.

SwinginFromTheChandelier · 24/02/2018 22:16

Raffie actually makes me think of Home and Away BlushBlushBlush

BrazzleDazzleDay · 24/02/2018 22:17

I dislike them all, well madelines ok. Can I ask why you felt the need to pronunciate madeline?

Sloppychops · 24/02/2018 22:21

I like Bethan and Flora.

C0untDucku1a · 24/02/2018 22:23

I like bethan and elspeth.

17caterpillars1mouse · 25/02/2018 07:20

Brazzle - as I really like it Mad-uh-line but know alot of people would assume like Madelyn which I'm not as fond of but not overly fussed about correcting people of the pronunciation we use if we were to use it

Olive and Bethan are my favourites. Lovely names.

Jammycustard · 25/02/2018 07:53

I have an Elspeth we call Effie.

Rosalind is nice.

Frazzled2207 · 25/02/2018 09:03

Like Bethan, Flora and Rosalind (think
Rosa nn is nicer than Rosie)

I'm Welsh and the problem with Bethan however is that the English can't pronounce it the Welsh way which is so much nicer IMO

Welsh- Beth-an where the a is a proper a like in ant
English - Beth-un

Elfyn · 25/02/2018 09:04

I like Olive, Elspeth, Flora and Raffaela.

Afreshcuppateaplease · 25/02/2018 09:07

Dont like any Blush sorry

FeatheredTail · 25/02/2018 09:19

Madeline is lovely, but much prefer the traditional Madeleine spelling and of course the Mad-uh-lin pronunciation.

Rosalind is beautiful.

Flora is nice.

I really really don't like Bethan or Ruth....or Olive or Elspeth.

Raffaela is so quintessentially Italian; if you're Italian, go for it, its gorgeous. If you're not, I wouldn't use it, it's too try hard.
